Amazon Redshift Spectrum is now available in four additional AWS Regions: EU (Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Singapore), and Asia Pacific (Seoul). Additionally, large bzip2-compressed files and ORC files are automatically split to enhance query performance in all available AWS Regions.
Amazon Redshift Spectrum is a feature of Amazon Redshift that enables you to analyze all of your data in Amazon S3, using the open data formats you already use with no data loading or transformations needed. You can seamlessly use the same standard SQL of Amazon Redshift and the Business Intelligence tools you use today. Redshift Spectrum gives you the freedom to store your data where you want, in the format you want, and have it available for processing when you need it.
