AWS Batch users are now able to create Managed Compute Environments which launch Amazon EC2 P3 instances. This allows developers to submit GPU-accelerated jobs without having to worry about managing compute resources.
Amazon EC2 P3 instances, the next-generation of EC2 compute-optimized GPU instances, are powered by up to 8 of the latest-generation NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPUs and are ideal for computationally advanced workloads such as machine learning (ML), high performance computing (HPC), data compression, and cryptography. They are also ideal for specific industry applications for scientific computing and simulations, financial analytics, and image and video processing.
AWS Batch Managed Compute Environments can be configured to launch Amazon EC2 P3 instances in the US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), EU West (Ireland) and Asia Pacific (Tokyo) regions.
AWS Batch is currently available in the following regions:
- US East (N. Virginia) us-east-1
- US East (Ohio) us-east-2
- US West (Oregon) us-west-2
- EU (Ireland) eu-west-1
- EU (London) eu-west-2
- EU (Frankfurt) eu-central-1
- Asia Pacific (Tokyo) ap-northeast-1
- Asia Pacific (Singapore) ap-southeast-1
- Asia Pacific (Sydney) ap-southeast-2
