Amazon FSx for Lustre now allows you to create smaller high-performance file systems, reducing the minimum size from 3.6 TBs to 1.2 TBs. These smaller file systems enable you to use FSx for Lustre for an even broader set of workloads, including machine learning workloads with smaller training sets.
Amazon FSx for Lustre file systems can be configured as standalone file systems or can be linked to an Amazon S3 bucket. When linked to an S3 bucket, an FSx for Lustre file system transparently presents S3 objects as files and allows you to write results back to S3, making it easy for you to process cloud data sets on S3 using a high-performance file system. With support for smaller file systems, FSx for Lustre enables you to process even smaller S3 data sets with a high-performance file system.
Smaller file systems are available now in the following AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), US West (N. California), EU (Ireland), EU (Frankfurt), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo). For more information, please visit the Amazon FSx for Lustre product page.
