The Amazon Redshift console simplifies isolating and fixing expensive queries with the redesigned query monitoring page. You can use the redesigned query monitoring page by navigating to cluster details for a cluster and then selecting the Query monitoring tab.
Customers execute thousands of queries in their data warehouse and sometimes it is difficult for them to isolate problematic queries. Now you can filter the top 100 queries by query runtime or duration for a selected time period. The query monitoring page visually shows the queries in a Gantt chart and allows you to isolate slow or long-running queries. You can sort the query list by any fields in the query list, such as query duration, query start time, and username. You can search for and explore queries, and then drill down to visualize query plans and execution statistics. The query details page gives users the ability to correlate execution time with cluster performance metrics and provides in-place optimization recommendations.
The cluster metrics option allows you to correlate query performance with cluster performance to help you identify which queries were running when the CPU utilization for the cluster was high. It also allows users to find out whether there was queueing and whether other queries are impacting the response time.
The new Redshift console is now available in the following AWS Regions: Asia Pacific(Hong Kong), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo) , Canada (Central), EU (Frankfurt), EU (Ireland), EU (London), EU (Paris), EU (Stockholm), Middle East (Bahrain), South America (Sao Paulo), US East (N.
