AWS Backup now supports cross-account management, enabling AWS customers to manage and monitor backups across their AWS accounts with AWS Organizations.
With cross-account management in AWS Backup, customers can deploy an organization-wide backup plan from the management account in their AWS Organizations, ensuring compliance across all accounts and reducing overhead associated with managing the backups for each account separately. Cross-account management also provides customers with a central view of all their accounts in their organizations, enabling customers to easily identify protected resources or accounts that have fallen out of compliance.
AWS Backup offers a centralized, fully-managed, and policy-based service to back up data in a compliant manner across AWS resources, including Amazon EBS volumes, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) databases (including Aurora clusters), Amazon DynamoDB tables, Amazon Elastic File System(EFS), Amazon EC2 instances, and AWS Storage Gateway volumes. AWS Organizations helps you centrally manage, govern, and audit your environment as you grow and scale your AWS resources.
