EC2 Image Builder is now integrated with AWS PrivateLink which enables customers to privately access EC2 Image Builder from Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (VPC) without using public IPs, and without requiring the traffic to traverse across the Internet. AWS PrivateLink provides private connectivity between VPCs, AWS services, and on-premises applications, securely on the Amazon network.
With private VPC connectivity, customers can meet compliance requirements to securely connect to EC2 Image Builder within Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) using private IP addresses and security groups. To use this capability, customers need to create an interface VPC endpoint for EC2 Image Builder in their VPC using the Amazon VPC console, SDK, or CLI. Customers can also access the VPC endpoint from on-premises environments or from other VPCs using AWS VPN, AWS Direct Connect, or VPC Peering.
Private VPC connectivity for EC2 Image Builder is available in all AWS Regions. For detailed usage instructions, see our documentation.
