AWS Transfer Family now supports using email addresses as usernames for your file transfer clients by adding support for at symbol (@) and period (dot) in usernames. In addition, the service now supports username length of up to 100 characters from the previously supported limit of 32 characters.
AWS Transfer Family provides fully managed support for Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP) over SSL, and FTP into and out of Amazon S3. This launch adds to the service’s existing seamless migration capabilities, so your end users can continue to use email addresses to login once you migrate to AWS Transfer Family.
This enhancement is available in all Regions where AWS Transfer Family is available. To learn more, visit the AWS Transfer Family product page and view the user guide on Service Managed and Custom (BYO) authentication. Access the AWS Transfer Family console to get started.
