Amazon Redshift RA3 Reserved Instance (RI) migration feature is now available in the Amazon Redshift Console, CLI and API to help migrate your DS2 RI clusters to RA3 RI clusters.
Amazon Redshift RA3 RI migration feature is available to Amazon Redshift customers that have eligible DS2.xlarge and DS2.8xlarge clusters with RIs purchased for those clusters in the same account, and where the cluster size meets the requirements. You can migrate the DS2 RI clusters to equivalent RA3 RI clusters as part of a cross-instance resize or cross-instance snapshot restore function. The RA3 RI covering the new cluster will be the same cost and on the same calendar terms as the original DS2 RI for supported configurations.
This feature is now available in the following public AWS regions: US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney).
