In order to provide our customers with additional flexibility to architect highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant workloads, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) has opened the third Availability Zone (AZ) to the AWS Secret cloud.
AWS Availability Zones located in the AWS Secret cloud consist of one or more discrete data centers. Each AZ has redundant power and networking connectivity, and is housed in separate facilities. Each AZ has multiple independent network connections and power connections to two or more grids.
Customers can easily access resources in the third AZ by adding the new AZ Subnet to their personalized VPC configurations. For customers using the default VPC configurations, connection to the new subnet will automatically propagate. Once VPC access is configured, customers will be able to select the third AZ as an option when launching new EC2 instances.
The addition of the third AZ provides customers with more options to distribute workloads and design resiliency into their applications. Additionally, customers will now have the availability to run full quorum-based system workloads.
With the addition of the third AZ, customers in the AWS Secret Region now have even more flexibility and availability to deploy complex workloads that require high availability architectures.
