Utilizing AWS App Studio, the NFL Media Design Group built a secure application that complies with our internal policies for efficiently processing over 3,000 player photos annually. The seamless integration of App Studio with AWS services like Bedrock enabled us to infuse advanced generative AI capabilities, automating image processing tasks that previously took hours but now only require minutes.

App Studio's development environment and toolchain greatly accelerated our application building and deployment cycles, freeing the design team from repetitive work to focus more on innovation and creating impactful visual assets that bring the NFL brand to life. With App Studio, we boosted our productivity, delivering personalized, high-quality player visual assets to our partners more rapidly.

As an analytics team dedicated to analyzing and optimizing package movement between Amazon facilities, like fulfillment centers and sorting hubs, AWS App Studio has been transformative. It enabled us to streamline workflows more efficiently—reducing reliance on software development resources. We utilized App Studio to develop the Constrained Cube Ceiling Portal, which establishes trailer volume benchmarks for optimizing truck utilization in Amazon’s transport network.

Previously, manually handling the high volume of override requests consumed significant time and resources. This new portal enables end-to-end automation for the intake, review, and deployment of workflows, greatly enhancing operational efficiency and saving an estimated 80 hours per week in manual effort compared to our previous approach. It also empowers us to make more quick decisions, supports deep dive and root cause analysis, and reduces operational costs, ultimately benefiting our customers with faster deliveries and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.

We selected App Studio over other tools due to its accessibility, which requires much less technical expertise. With a streamlined onboarding process and a short ramp-up period, we successfully built the initial MVP of the solution, allowing us to develop it approximately 5 times faster than other low-code development tools, while App Studio’s generative AI assistant provided detailed guidance throughout the process of building and iterating our solution. Since launching in July, the portal has processed over 1,000 requests from thousands of users across Amazon Fulfillment and Sort Centers. The team is excited to explore more generative AI capabilities that App Studio offers to further enhance our workflows and decision-making.

App Studio opens up low-code tools to our company for the first time, allowing us to leverage our many existing AWS investments and empowering employees to build applications in minutes, instead of days, with the help of its generative AI-powered assistant. Historically, we built all of our internal tools from the ground up because existing low-code solutions did not meet our company’s strict security requirement. A small team of five developers had to manage this infrastructure on top of their day-to-day work, increasing our operational costs and taking them away from their core responsibilities. With App Studio, every application is secure and fully managed by AWS, freeing our employees to focus on customer-facing projects.

With generative AI-powered guidance available throughout the development process, App Studio is a game changer for technical employees to create high-quality, visually attractive, and intuitive business applications. We work with some of today’s largest enterprises, so our developers have limited time to dedicate to build and run internal applications. We used AWS App Studio to develop a decision-enabling tool that helps customers analyze their service management data (Incident, Call Center, Work Orders, etc.) through role-based dashboards, enhancing operational processes, while eliminating the need for external expertise or SMEs.

App Studio emerged as the most efficient and cost-effective choice for delivering a solution that integrates process analytics and AI capabilities. Its generative AI–powered development greatly simplified our solution creation, with integrated AWS services and third-party application connectors to enable seamless data integration, significantly reducing our time to market. The main challenge for us was the lack of in-house frontend development expertise, but App Studio removed that blocker with an extensible drag-and-drop UI configurator, and over 40 components to meet the needs of our business requirements. We look forward to further utilizing App Studio to continue developing decision-enabling solutions to meet our clients' dynamic priorities.

With App Studio, a team of two were able to build a complete application that streamlines data intake, management, and reporting for our 150-person team. Our market survey process gives us the data to determine the next locations to provide student housing, but this process is excruciatingly manual with more than 150 people involved in data collection, entry, and validation across multiple spreadsheets, forms, and dashboards. We expect that this data processing application will increase the efficiency of our market survey collection and distribution process by 20% and cut down on 98% of the human errors associated with manual data entry. We now plan to roll out App Studio to modernize our financial and HR data pipelines and use other AWS generative AI services to further improve how we manage our processes at scale.
