Cloud block storage that is simple to consume, fast, and cost-efficient. Lightbits is a smart data platform that automatically performs self-healing and auto-scaling including enterprise services such as data efficiencies, snapshots, backups, and clones
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance type you deploy this block storage software on. The eleven dimensions map to specific instance types across three families: i4i, i3en, and c5n. These range from smaller instances to larger multi-core and bare-metal (metal) options. Each family and size carries its own hourly rate. Your cost scales with the instance size and count you run. You choose the instance that fits your storage capacity and performance needs, then pay only for the hours those instances run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Am I charged for instances that are stopped or powered off?
Charges meter running instance-hours. When you stop or power off an instance, the hourly software charge stops for that instance. Only the hours your instances actually run count toward your bill. Note that underlying AWS resources may carry their own separate charges when instances remain provisioned.
What does an hourly charge cover — is it storage capacity or the compute instance?
You pay per hour for the EC2 instance the software runs on, not for provisioned capacity. Each dimension maps to one instance type. The instance's own storage drives serve your data volumes. You pay for storage you deploy, not provision. Instant snapshots, clones, and restores carry no extra fee.
How does my bill change if I add more instances or scale the cluster?
Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate. Adding instances adds their hourly charges to the same invoice. The cluster can auto-scale up and down to meet demand. Your total is the sum of hours across every instance you run, so cost rises with instance size and count.

AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
