Overview

Leapfrog Technology, an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner with AWS AI Services and DevOps Services competencies, helps regulated organizations build secure, production-ready AI solutions on AWS. The company helped Eduphoric build the Living Wage Advisor on AWS, an AI-powered guidance engine on the company’s roadmap that unifies 130,000 student records across 12 school districts and one community college. While not yet in production, the solution has shown promise by accelerating pathway generation fivefold and fully automating ingestion of complex regulatory files, helping advisors deliver personalized, market-aligned guidance at scale.

Opportunity

Driving Innovation with AWS and AWS Marketplace

Leapfrog specializes in helping organizations in highly regulated industries harness the power of generative AI securely and responsibly. As an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) AI Competency and AWS DevOps Services Competency, Leapfrog has built its business by helping organizations turn ambitious ideas into production-ready, cloud-native platforms on AWS. Leapfrog’s work spans healthcare, education, financial services, and life sciences, where compliance requirements such as HIPAA, FERPA, and SOC 2 are foundational rather than optional. “We aim to blend startup speed and enterprise standards,” says Chris Sprague, CEO of Leapfrog Technology. “We move quickly, stay pragmatic, and build with a strong product and an outcomes-driven mindset while maintaining the security, compliance, and oversight that healthcare, education technology, and other serious environments require.”

Among the company’s flagship offerings is DocWeaver, an intelligent document processing accelerator built using Amazon Bedrock, leveraging Amazon Neptune to model complex relationships, and using specialized AI agents built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. The solution transforms unstructured documents into validated, structured data within customers' secure AWS environments. Leapfrog's Addy AI solution builds on these capabilities by automating complex referral and intake workflows. Using Amazon Textract and Amazon Bedrock, Addy processes incoming documents, extracts critical information, and integrates directly with downstream systems through robotic process automation. The results have been transformative for customers, reducing referral processing times by 96 percent and eliminating eight-day processing backlogs in favor of one-to-two-day workflows. Organizations have also achieved an 80 percent reduction in document review times and an 87 percent reduction in infrastructure costs through AWS serverless architectures.

AWS Marketplace has become an important component of Leapfrog's go-to-market strategy. Although still early in its AWS Marketplace journey, the company sees it becoming the default way customers engage and transact with its AI offerings. “What we like about AWS is the ease of explaining the partnership that we have and the benefits that it provides customers,” says Sprague. “The AWS Competencies give us credibility, but they also provide funding programs and collaborative opportunities that help us demonstrate value quickly. Showing—not telling—is really critical today.”

Solution

Expanding the Future of AI-Powered Student Guidance

Leapfrog’s philosophy proved especially valuable when Eduphoric LLC, a provider of data-driven education administration programs serving school districts across Dallas County, Texas, approached Leapfrog with an ambitious challenge. Approximately 600,000 young adults transition from education to the workforce in Dallas County each year, yet only 33 percent are currently on a verified path to earning a living wage. High school advisors often manage student-to-counselor ratios approaching 500:1, making personalized guidance virtually impossible to deliver consistently.

Existing educational technology platforms compounded the problem. Critical student, workforce, and regulatory data existed across more than 100,000 disparate files spread among learning management systems, grading platforms, student information systems, and workforce databases. Creating personalized student pathways required developers to manually configure academic rules. This process could take multiple days for a single pathway and was impossible to scale across thousands of students and career options.

Working together, Leapfrog and Eduphoric created the Living Wage Advisor, an AI-driven guidance engine on AWS that is not yet in production but is on Eduphoric’s roadmap. The solution is designed to transform reactive reporting into proactive intervention and will comprise three core components. The Unified Student Profile aggregates K-12, higher education, and workforce data into a comprehensive student record. The Realm of Opportunity maps complex regulatory requirements, labor market demands, financial aid rules, credentials, and community needs. Sitting at the intersection of both is the Living Wage Advisor, which was built using Amazon Bedrock and calculates the precise academic distance between a student's current position and viable living-wage careers.

The platform takes advantage of Amazon Neptune to model complex relationships among courses, certifications, credentials, and career pathways. Specialized AI agents built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore perform functions including pathway scoring, prerequisite generation, deadline monitoring, counselor briefing generation, plan-gap detection, and organizational guardrails within a FERPA-governed environment.

Importantly, the solution integrates into counselors' existing workflows rather than requiring schools to adopt entirely new systems. Recommendations are delivered through notification queues and embedded directly into the tools counselors already use.

Outcome

Accelerating Student Pathway Generation and Scaling Student Support

For Eduphoric, the platform’s impact was immediate. The organization has achieved a fivefold acceleration in student pathway generation through its AI-powered recommendation API, enabling thousands of personalized pathways to be created and updated rapidly. To date, the platform has successfully unified 130,000 student records across 12 school districts and one community college while achieving 100 percent automated ingestion of complex regulatory files.

“Most organizations use AI simply to gather data and generate static reports, but nobody is using it to actually push students toward real outcomes,” says Mark Luetzelschwab, founder of Eduphoric. “The Living Wage Advisor is fundamentally different. By partnering with Leapfrog and leveraging AWS, we built a system that actively guides students toward market-aligned careers. It removes the administrative burden from our advisors and provides the turn-by-turn directions young adults need to achieve true financial stability.”

The Living Wage Advisor also enables real-time student interventions by automatically identifying missing prerequisite classes, incomplete financial aid applications, and critical deadlines before students miss important opportunities.

For counselors, the technology fundamentally changes what's possible. Without adding headcount, counselors can now deliver highly individualized, market-aligned guidance at a scale the 500:1 student-to-counselor ratio previously made impossible. “We're building an AI guidance engine that gives every student a personalized, well-marked pathway from where they are now to college, career readiness, and ultimately a living-wage job,” says Sprague.

Eduphoric's long-term goal is to increase the percentage of Dallas County young adults on a verified path to a living wage from 33 percent to 60 percent over the next decade. Upcoming deployments include additional Texas school districts and deeper integration with higher education institutions and workforce data sources.

Leapfrog plans to continue expanding its AWS Marketplace offerings while growing its portfolio of agentic AI solutions across regulated industries. The company is investing heavily in AWS programs, AI accelerators, and production-ready generative AI solutions that can help organizations rapidly move from experimentation to measurable business outcomes.

“This isn't just about getting students into college,” says Manu Chatterjee, vice president of AI at Leapfrog. “It's about helping people find the pathway that's right for them and keeping them on that path as opportunities change. That's where AI can make an incredible difference—not replacing human advisors but giving them the tools to provide personalized guidance at a scale that simply wasn't possible before.”
