Autodesk Uses AWS Machine Learning to Optimize Product Design
2020
Autodesk uses machine learning (ML) models built on Amazon SageMaker, a fully managed ML service from Amazon Web Services (AWS), to help product designers organize and sort through thousands of iterations produced by generative design processes and choose the optimal design. In the video below, Mike Haley, senior director of AI & robotics at Autodesk, speaks to how ML processes developed with Amazon SageMaker help Autodesk move from intuitive design to exploring the boundaries of generative design for their customers to create innovative—and even life-changing—products. For example, Edera Safety, a design studio from Austria, created a better and more efficient spine protector using Autodesk’s generative design process built on AWS.
