Star Alliance Goes All In on AWS
2021
Star Alliance, the world’s largest airline alliance with 26 member airlines, has gone all in on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to rapidly deliver applications, products, and services to its customers. Based on the feedback from its member airlines, many of which are already using AWS, Star Alliance became clear about the direction it wanted to take in terms of moving to the cloud. “The travel world is going to be very different as we come out of [the COVID-19 pandemic]. The new world will have different dynamics and expectations,” says Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Star Alliance. “What we want to be able to do together with AWS, and what other airlines will need to do, is to be able to adopt a strategy on data management and analytics, and more on customization, personalization, and a targeted approach to the customer.” In the video below, hear why Star Alliance chose to go all in on AWS as it invents the next era of air travel.
