Workshops

Core Transfer Family MFT

Core Transfer Family MFT

Basic principles for securing access using AWS Transfer Family (100 level)

This workshop will teach you how to host your SFTP endpoint inside a virtual private cloud (VPC) so you can control your network settings, including how to use an allow list to control who can access your Transfer Family server. Additionally, you will learn how to create and administer service-managed users and map these users to user-friendly virtual directory structures that they will navigate when they connect to your Amazon S3 buckets.

Core Transfer Family MFT

SFTP workshop (200 level)

This workshop will teach you how to set up a SFTP server using AWS Transfer Family and configure your SFTP server with a custom Identity Provider. You will learn how to store entitlements in DynamoDB and use Transfer Family features to provide customized access. You will learn how to create managed workflows to automatically perform PGP decryption for uploaded files. Finally, you will learn how to set up SFTP connectors and copy files between remote SFTP servers and Amazon S3.

Core Transfer Family MFT

Event Driven MFT Workshop Phase 1 (300 level)

This workshop will teach you how to use event-driven architectures to build automated workflows for exchanging files with remote partners, and executing pre or post transfer actions to prepare files for integration with your applications downstream. You will use AWS Transfer Family to set up file transfer servers and connectors and Amazon EventBridge to listen and respond to transfer events. You will also use AWS Step Functions to define automated workflow and AWS Lambda to execute file processing.

Applicability Statement 2 (AS2) workshop (300 level)

This workshop will teach you how to configure a Transfer Family endpoint with AS2 enabled, and a Transfer Family AS2 connector so you can exchange files with a partner who has a configured AS2-enabled server. Finally, you will test the event driven architecture end-to-end transferring a file from the Transfer Family AS2 server to a trading partner to enable the file for ingestion into downstream applications.

Additional workshops

Amazon S3 Access Grants workshop (300 level)

Learn how to create Amazon S3 Access Grants constructs and usage. This workshop demonstrates the initial setup of S3 Access Grants and the integration with other AWS services like AWS Transfer Family. There is one module dedicated to using Identity Center Trusted identity propagation with S3 Access Grants with Transfer Family web apps. You can do the integration with Azure Entra ID or Okta.

Additional workshops

EDI document exchange with AWS B2B Data Interchange (300 level)

Use AWS B2B Data Interchange to parse X12 data into JSON/XML and transform it to custom JSON. With AWS Transfer Family, you’ll learn how to send and retrieve data to and from business partners. You’ll also send automatic acknowledgments back to trading partners to inform them that files have been received or to report errors. Finally, monitor EDI transformations and view usage metrics.
