AWS Managed Services Accelerate Documentation

Incident management

AMS Accelerate is designed to help detect and respond to incidents and assists your team in resolving issues. You can reach out to AMS Accelerate operations engineers, with incident response time SLAs depending on the level of response you selected for your account.

Service request management

You can create service requests for information on how to use AMS, troubleshoot operational issues that are not an incident, and receive guidance on operational integration for your workloads.

Operational monitoring

AMS is designed to monitor the logs and metrics of your AWS resources to detect performance and availability issues. After receiving an alert, AMS is designed to combine remediations, cloud experts, and processes to bring the resources back to a healthy state. It can engage with your teams to convert insights into learnings on how to prevent this behavior in the future.

Backup and restoration

AMS helps you back up information and assists with recovery. You are enabled to define the backup schedules, frequency, and retention period while AMS is designed to initiate and monitor backup jobs.

Logging

AMS is designed to aggregate and store logs. Consistent log handling can help prevent tampering and support auditing, detecting, and resolving issues. AMS is also designed to record changes executed inside the account and provide queries that help in tracking resource changes over time.

Reporting

AMS is designed to provide customers with a monthly service report that summarizes key AMS performance metrics. This report is designed to include an executive summary and insights, operational metrics, AMS SLA adherence, and financial metrics around spend, savings, and cost optimization. Reports are designed to be delivered to the customer.

AMS Cloud Service Delivery Manager (CSDM)

AMS can designate a CSDM who provides visibility, recommendations, escalation channel, and reporting through all phases of the operations lifecycle, including onboarding and migration. CSDMs can help conduct monthly business reviews and provide insights like financial spending, cost-saving recommendations, service utilization, and risk reporting.

Cloud Architect

AMS can designate a Cloud Architect (CA) who can provide technical expertise to navigate the operational challenges of cloud computing

Patch management

AMS is designed to apply and install updates for supported operating systems during your chosen maintenance windows. AMS is designed to create a snapshot of the instance before patching, monitor the patch installation, and notify you of the outcome. In case of patching failures, AMS is designed to investigate the failure and try to remediate it or rolls back the instance if needed.

AWS Systems Manager Sessions Manager

AMS is designed to use proven automations to perform operations activities to help minimize manual touch points and security risks.

Security monitoring

AMS is designed to protect your resources with AWS security tools to help reduce noise and identify indications of an upcoming security incident.
