     Info

    Overview

Floating Cloud Email Server on Linux includes Postfix using Postgres Database for mail@yourdomain. It also features Roundcube Webmail and Floating Cloud Technical Support. You can add as many addresses as you please, Mailbox charges are avoided, this gives you independence. Postfix is an Open Source Email server written at IBM in 1997. It has tons of features. This installation use Postgres to store user information, while it stores the mailbox in standard mail directories. We have added Dovecot with IMAP support so that you can read your email with any email client. To send email your users can use either AWS SES or this server. Using SES saves you the work of getting Domain Authority, so your messages wont be filtered away from the inbox.

We float The Chaos Out of Your Cloud. By using Floating Cloud servers you will benefit from our years of experience in System administration. We have built this server especially for the needs of small and SOHO businesses.

    Usage instructions

    For extensive instructions see: http://floatingcloud.io/mail-server-linux-postfix-using-mysql-tons-users/

Before logging into to your server via ssh, you need to make sure that you first set up an elastic IP address and DNS records. You need to setup the DNS with both an A record and an MX record.

You need to first attach an Elastic IP to your instance, this way the IP address will not change when the server is turned off and on. Follow these instuctions: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/elastic-ip-addresses-eip.html

You then need your DNS to have an A record to point to the IP address of the server. The A record is the domain or sub-domain that you plan to use for this server.

You then need to make an MX record point to that A record. This makes the Instance open to receive email from the rest of the Universe.

To login go to your AWS EC2 panel, click on your new instance and follow the login instructions to SSH login. become root sudo -i cd /opt/postfix-containerized/docker-files BE SURE TO use the correct fqdn and that it ALready has MX record . run the command ./prepare-postifx.sh YOUR-FULLY-QUALIFIED-DOMAIN-NAME

This script creates an https certificates which are used by the mail server and the webmail as well as an admin user with username admin@YOUR-FQDN . Open https://YOUR-FQDN  the password is the Instance ID To add users login to https://YOUR-FQDN/admin  with same credentials, click on "Add Mailbox"
