Konveyor
After confirming the installation, you’ll be redirected to the CloudFormation stack creation page
- on that page, choose a name for the stack, specify a domain name and the corresponding ARN of an existing valid certificate on ACM
- start the CloudFormation stack, then monitor its progress
- once completed, add a CNAME record pointing to the LoadBalancer using the configured domain name. You can find the LoadBalancer CNAME under the “Outputs” tab, with the “LoadBalancerCNAME” key.
- Access the application on https://
. Depending on the available resources, Konveyor might take up to 10 min to start, so it's possible that you'll get a 503 error at the beginning
The application will create the following IAM role: SSMRoleforInstance. This is necessary to access the ""Backup"" S3 bucket to write DB Dumps, and allow you to access the EC2 instance using SSM.
The application will not create any keys and does not make use of custom encryption. As shown in the architectural diagram, an API Gateway is provisioned to route the requests coming from the Internet to the EC2 instance hosting Konveyor. The application will be deployed in a private subnet within a dedicated VPC. A dedicated Internet Gateway and NAT Gateway will be provisioned. The application is designed to run within the standard AWS resources limits.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
