    Overview

    Play video

Thales CipherTrust Platform Community Edition reduces the drag associated with adding data security so you can protect your velocity and be compliant. DevSecOps teams can integrate key management (KMS), encryption and tokenization in a fraction of the time required by other solutions. CipherTrust Manager Community Edition simplifies your workflow with centralized key lifecycle management using role-based access controls on encryption keys and policies. CipherTrust Manager Community Edition enables compliance by including robust auditing and reporting. Integration becomes easy due to developer-friendly APIs (including REST, KMIP and NAE-XML), and efficiency increases due to full separation of DevSecOps duties. At the core of the CipherTrust Data Security Platform, CipherTrust Manager Community Edition provides a unified management console for a variety of Thales CipherTrust Connectors that simplify discovery, protection and control of sensitive data wherever the data resides - in file-systems/folders, databases, applications, containers, big data and virtualized environments. Meeting compliance mandates in AWS is greatly simplified with CipherTrust Manager Community Edition through key management activity logs provided in a non-repudiable audit trail that can be forwarded to a security information management (SIEM) platform.

    Comprehensive Security Platform

I was referred to the community edition and it exceeded my expectation. I heard Thales was a "big corporate" security provider, but was impressed with how simple it is to install. We will need a couple of paid features, but these are very affordable. Top end security - affordable price.

What do you like best about the product?
Gemalto SafeNet KeySecure is one of the prominent appliance-based Security tools in the world. With the KeySecure and its connectors, you can make sure that your data, wherever it resides, is safe. What's more is that you can have virtual appliances from Gemalto, you just need to buy the license from them.

It is really easy to navigate the server of KeySecure. It is well organized and it is well designed as well. For a security tool, this have one of the best GUI as you can easily go to where to need to be.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the connectors of Gemalto, ProtectDB, is not recommended to clients who uses 3rd party applications and will not be able to modify how their applications and databases behave. Although it is really secured, not being able to modify the applications and databases to behave exactly as how ProtectDB needs it to be will lead to performance issues. Before implementing ProtectDB to clients, make sure that they can and they are WILLING to modify the applications and databases that they use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the key problems that can be solved with Gemalto SafeNet KeySecure is the security loopholes you have. Whether it be an insider threat or a hacker from outside of your network, KeySecure can prevent malicious users from getting their hands on your precious data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering to use Gemalto SafeNet KeySecure, I recommend looking at the Thales Vormetrics.
