As part of our initial conversation, we’ll work with you  to define the workload and that will be reviewed

Daemon Pre-Discovery

This step is unique offering from Daemon where we independently analyse your workload and try to identify any potential issues ahead of the Well-Architected Review session.

This allows us to:

• Dive deeper into your workload configuration
• Reduce the amount of time it takes to complete a Well-Architected review session.

What’s Involved?

We provide you with a CloudFormation template to deploy into your AWS account containing the workload.  This creates a set of cross-account IAM roles that we use to scan the account, create diagrams and pre-load the well-architected review questionnaire.  We’ll run…

• Daemon Well-Architected Scans - A combination of proprietary & open source scanning tools that help us to identify any issues.
• CloudCraft - Automated diagramming software

We provide you with a copy of all outputs from these tools too!

Well-Architected Review Session

For the Well-Architected Review session, we’ll meet up (ideally in person) and complete the required pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Review together.

Typically, this will involve doing many deep-dives into the workload design and AWS services that are in use, checking everything against best practices.

In order for this to be successful, we need all key stakeholders to be present and participate in the entire review session.  This may include:

• Architects
• Platform Engineers
• Infosec
• Development Leads

As part of the workload scoping phase, we’ll let you know who should be invited.

Issue Remediation Plan

Following the completion of the Well-Architected Review session, we’ll create a remediation plan which details the high, medium and low risk issues that have been discovered.

We can help you prioritise the remediations, ensuring that as many high-risk issues are tackled first.

This plan can be fed into your teams to fix, or if required, we can also help you to resolve them

Post Remediation Review

Once you have fixed any issues that have been discovered, we re-review these issues for your workload to ensure nothing has been missed.

A full report is then provided to you that details the current state of the workload according to the completed review.
