It can be quickly integrated into websites, mobile applications, desktop applications, and just about any programming language which supports HTTP requests.
OpenShot Cloud API is designed as a private cloud, which you manage yourself. Run a single EC2 instance (using the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud), or scale up to hundreds of servers. Each new instance you bring online becomes a new video render "worker", allowing smooth scaling without any complex architecture changes.
Audio transcriptions can be created for any file easily using our powerful AI, and captions can be added to any clips where you need text displayed on top of the video.

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no contract. Billing follows the instance hours you use, and you can stop anytime. The many dimensions map to different EC2 instance types, so your rate depends on the instance size and family you choose. Smaller instances carry lower hourly rates, while larger or specialized types (memory, compute, GPU, or storage-optimized) cost more per hour. You control scaling by launching a single instance or running many at once. These software rates are separate from AWS EC2 server fees, which Amazon bills directly.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay only for the hours an instance is running. Stopping an instance halts the software charge, and you can stop at any time with no contract. Note that AWS may still bill underlying storage or EC2 fees separately, which are not part of this software rate.
One instance-hour covers the software running on a single EC2 instance you launch and control. The rate is flat per hour regardless of how many minutes of video you render. It does not include the Amazon EC2 server fees, which Amazon bills to you directly.
Each running instance bills its own hourly software rate. Running several at once adds those rates together for the same period. You start with a single instance and load-balance more as needed. Your total depends on how many instances run and which instance types you choose.

Usage instructions
- Launch the product using one-click.
- Use the username ubuntu to connect to the EC2 instance, for example:
- ssh -i yourkey ubuntu@(EC2_instance_public_IP)
- Run the following command in the CLI: config-openshot-cloud
- Create a new IAM user with the following permissions: AmazonS3FullAccess & AmazonSQSFullAccess. You will need the Access Key and Secret Key from this step.
- Create a new SQS queue named OpenShotCloudAPI (with default settings)
- Accept the default selections that the config-openshot-cloud command presents. Be sure to make a note of the username and password that is entered, and complete the setup process.
- Access the application via web browser at (EC2_instance_public_IP)
- Authenticate using the credentials displayed when running the config-openshot-cloud command

What do you like best about the product?
OpenShot is my alternative to Shotcut whenever I need a fast and simple way to edit videos. The interface is clean and intuitive, so I can jump right into trimming, cutting, and arranging clips without a steep learning curve. It offers drag-and-drop editing and decent support for transitions and titles, which helps speed things up for basic projects. Being open-source and available across platforms is a bonus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the app feels less polished, especially with large or complex projects. I’ve noticed performance drops occasionally, and a few features like advanced effects or export settings could be improved. But for quick edits, it covers all the essentials.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenShot lets me get basic editing done without fuss and fast making it great for quick video projects. It saves me time, keeps the process straightforward, and is always ready for those moments when I just need something simple and reliable.

What do you like best about the product?
Its limitless track functionality helps me organize visual and audio elements in my projects; I really like that I can manage multiple edits within the same environment without having to open separate files. It offers an intuitive timeline that facilitates to make adjustments to each video and conveniently color–codes video and audio tracks for improved organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
OpenShot delivers on the essentials and is simply designed for newbie and intermediate users; I only wish it could improve performance when working with bulk video files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its intuitive interface has allowed me to edit audiovisual content easily when preparing video presentations for progress reports or visual content for trainings. OpenShot has become my trusted tool for these editing tasks, it's not the most advanced option but it has unmatched ease of use and versatility.

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to upload media and graphics, music quality does not seem to lower either.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only downside is the lack of a visible autosave feature. If I don't save every 10-15 minutes and it decides to crash, my previous work is mostly lost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping me make fun, interesting videos in a timely manner. I also love that it's free to install!

What do you like best about the product?
This app is very easy to use and free too! I downloaded it and watched a tutorial, a few minutes later I was ready to edit my first video. I do not have a degree in video editing but the products from my Openshot edits were of high quality.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times when the app just shuts down in the middle of editing. It's rather annoying especially if you haven't saved your work. There were instances when I had to redo my work because the app had shut down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fact that there is no need to pay for a video editing tool because OpenShot is open source. That's just awesome! Most free resources have ads, I was expecting to see some with the app but haven't yet.
