Overview
In the startup world, data is crucial for survival and success. According to a survey by TechRepublic, 67% of startups consider data to be one of their most valuable assets. However, startups face many challenges when it comes to effectively utilizing data. According to a survey by CB Insights, the most common reason for startup failure is the lack of knowledge on how to best stream, store, and derive insights from data.
To address this challenge, AWS has developed the Data and AI/ML Acceleration Program (DAPP), in collaboration with dependable partners such as SnapSoft. This program aims to provide startups with the essential knowledge and skills to create a robust data infrastructure and strategize efficiently using a range of AWS services including Amazon Kinesis, Glue, Redshift, EMR, Quicksight, Elasticsearch and others.
The DAPP program consists of two primary stages:
Step 1 - Investigation (1 week)
During this stage, SnapSoft will engage in comprehensive technical sessions to thoroughly investigate the startup's existing data infrastructure and specific use cases. SnapSoft will work closely with the startup's team to understand their data needs and identify areas for improvement. They will also evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of various AWS services to address the startup's specific requirements, such as data warehousing, data lakes, data processing, data visualization, and machine learning. By the end of this stage, the startup will have a comprehensive understanding of their current data infrastructure, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement, as well as a clear roadmap for implementing an optimized data strategy using AWS services.
Step 2 - Design Lab (2 days/ or 4 ½ days)
This process involves "solution architecting." Startups will receive unambiguous recommendations regarding the most fitting AWS services, an architectural blueprint, and a step-by-step implementation plan.
Hands-On-Keyboard Work: Post DAPP
SnapSoft's team of experienced cloud architects and developers can leverage their expertise to build a data infrastructure that aligns with the startup's specific requirements and use cases. This involves configuring and optimizing AWS services such as Amazon SageMaker, AWS Glue, Amazon Kinesis Firehose, Amazon QuickSight, Amazon CloudSearch and others.
DAPP provides startups with a valuable opportunity to leverage AWS services effectively to build a robust data infrastructure and execute an efficient data strategy. This program can help startups optimize their data utilization, which can lead to better customer experiences and ultimately, improved business performance.
