Overview
Exasol is the fastest in-memory MPP database according to the TPC-H benchmark for clustered, decision support databases. Since 09/24/2014 Exasol holds the unmatched score of 1.6 million queries per hour. Exasol has been designed specifically for BI, analytics and reporting and scales rapidly from 10's GBs to 100's TBs data, is quick to implement and delivers highest performance while keeping costs and complexity low. Exasol is being used in a wide range of Big Data use cases, including accelerating standard reporting, running multi-user ad-hoc analytics, and performing complex modelling using predictive in-database analytics. As a data warehouse and analytics engine, Exasol can be used either standalone or integrated with Hadoop and Spark. In addition out-of-the-box support for R, Python, Java and Lua allows you to integrate the programming language of your choice and use it for in-database analytics. Exasol supports standard interfaces for integrating upstream (Data Integration) and downstream (BI) tools. Our standard interfaces include ODBC, JDBC, WebSockets and ADO.NET. Exasol works in production environments with BI and Data Integration tools from all the leading vendors. Want to explore our newest features, including multi-cluster support and auto-scaling? 64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Usage Instructions: We recommend reading the documentation including Guides for Getting Started at https://docs.exasol.com/db/latest/get_started/cloud_platforms/aws.htm . The easiest way to set up an Exasol cluster or single-node installation is through our Cloud Deployment Wizard at https://cloudtools.exasol.com/ . Alternatively you can use our CloudFormation deployment templates to deploy single-node and cluster installations. Website launch instructions: If you would like to start a single-node installation without the wizard or referring to the full documentation at https://docs.exasol.com/db/latest/get_started/cloud_platforms/aws.htm first, you can easily start an instance via the marketplace web interface. After the instance has been successfully started (instance state:running), please wait another 2-3 minutes until the application has been initialized. Access the administration application EXAOperation via a browser at https://PUBLIC_IP/. Please confirm the digital certificate first as its validity cannot be automatically verified by the web browser ("Your connection is not secure"). Please attach EBS drives as recommended on the start screen or proceed without additional drives for a quick evaluation setup which is not recommended for productive usage.

The best Analytic Database performance
Best analytics DB
It is also great, that it can handle multiple users to work on the same dataset without any problems with performance.
Great tool
Speed is phenomenal even when running complex queries.
Best choice for on-premise, getting better in the cloud
+ Cost-to-performance ratio is very competitive, you'll need much less hardware;
+ Efficient indexed JOINs, probably best in class;
+ Flexible UDF scripts, can be implemented in any programming language and run in parallel;
- Lack of native partial backup (per-table, per-schema), must use EXPORT instead;
- Detection of data lineage is a bit difficult, unless you implement it yourself externally;
- Cloud capabilities are not fully utilised (yet), but it's not a problem for "on-premise";
A high-performance database for Analytics. Would definitely recommend it.
This extraordinary performance allowed to, over time, squeeze much more value from the database, while keeping low maintenance and development costs.
For my Analytics department, migrating to Exasol was the single most important step that we took to provide a better service to business, assure quick development cycles and incur in minimal admin effort.
