This image deploys your own FreePBX-powered VoIP server on AWS using 1-Click deploy process.
What is FreePBX?
FreePBX is an open-source WebUI for managing the popular VoIP server Asterisk. Asterisk is the gold standard for VoIP implementation of a private branch exchange (PBX). FreePBX is popular among entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes because of its simplicity and intuitive panel that takes the complexity out of managing an Asterisk server. It's easy to use and can be managed from any device - Phone, Computer and Tablet, all you need is an internet connection. You can make and receive calls while on the move and connect with all your remote workers on one single voice platform. A recap of the benefits.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the software running on an EC2 instance. There are no upfront commitments and no fixed terms. Pricing scales with the EC2 instance type you pick. The list covers general-purpose (m3, m4, m5, t2, t3) and memory-optimized (r3, r4, r5) families. Within each family, sizes range from small instances up to large multi-core and bare-metal (metal) options. Larger instances carry more compute and memory, so their hourly rate is higher. You choose the instance that fits your call volume and workload, then pay only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and what does it exclude?
The hourly rate covers the software image, which bundles the open-source VoIP interface, its underlying telephony server, and the Linux operating system in a one-click deploy. It does not include the separate AWS EC2 compute, storage, or data-transfer charges, which AWS bills on top of the software fee.
Am I charged when the EC2 instance is stopped or powered off?
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still owe AWS storage fees for the attached disk while the instance is stopped, since that data persists independently of the software licence.
Can I move to a different instance type as my call volume grows?
Yes. Pricing is tied to the EC2 instance type you run, not a fixed commitment. You can stop the instance and relaunch on a general-purpose or memory-optimized type in a range of sizes. The hourly software rate then follows the new instance you select.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
