Access to great insights in a user-friendly way
What do you like best about the product?
Very user-friendly and easy to understand even for those with not much knowledge. Interface is nice looking too and the different charts are really useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
No capabilities to group numbers. We can group daily/monthly/yearly but we cannot aggregate the data altogether so something it's hard to have a real overview of everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Insights that influence marketing decisions.

We've just started using Amplitude to track user events and it makes the job really well!
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to build charts. I like the lookalike of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing for the moment. Keep going like that!

Inability to create and utilize custom scripted values. Poorer search / ad-hoc analysis compared to Kibana.

The best thing about Amplitude analytics is - it's applicable to Small, Medium & Large industry. Additionally the real time reporting is flawless.

The price is bit steep for small scale industry.

The best thing about this Amplitude Analytics - It's also available for mobile platform - Android, IOS.

I love the way my analytics appear.. beautiful charts!
I love the fact that I can track users and not only sessions.
The tool is very intuitive and well documented, tons of white paper to help use the product the right way

It took me some time to understand the nuances when I was using some event attributes vs user attributes... not so easy at first !
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
quickly track users activity and product adoption in a few sec. Finally analytics look great !
Really competitive analytics product for product people. Helps if you are an experienced analyst.
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude continuously offers new and innovative data views that any analyst would appreciate. They go much farther than the data exploration / distribution charts / event logs you're going to see in Mixpanel or Heap.
What do you dislike about the product?
Basic functionality is very competitively priced, all of their really interesting tools are hidden behind very expensive enterprise sales packages, even for relatively small companies with small data requirements. Would love to use compass or pathfinder now on a mid-tier plan, but there are no plans "in the middle".

Covers basic analytics needs for a small startup really, really well.
Excellent tool, fabulous to get started & scales
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is 100% what I recommend to just about anyone trying to do usage tracking. They head/shoulders better than MixPanel/Kissmetrics and are even free for a ton of usage. As close to a no-brainer as it gets.
You can clearly see that their technology is much more advanced than their competitors. More things are possible and charts render quickly.

What do you dislike about the product?
I still find the new 2017 UI pretty confusing. I don't love how dashboards are laid out. It's confusing to me what is shared and what isn't.

AB tests. Usage analytics. Funnel analysis.

Cohorting and Dashboarding at it's finest
What do you like best about the product?
We love the ability to cohort groups based on their event stream as well as the ability to upload specific files to create cohorts. The latter is very important as it allows you to take data from disparate systems and compare them against other cohorts. The implementation team is top notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Totals of unique events can be tricky to get at in the table views below the graphs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main focus for us was better "grouping" of customers for analysis. Overall Amplitude represents our ad hoc analytics tool and allows us to track events, identify users who perform specific events.
Amplitude can be valuable but difficult to use and maintain
What do you like best about the product?
I love how you can completely customize your events with amplitude. We use it across mobile and web and for our dashboards and trial experiences within our product.
What do you dislike about the product?
This product is not very intuitive, especially as a non-technical employee. After their recent update, it got even harder to use. It's also very difficult to maintain. I also dislike how they don't offer any customer support for users below 8 million events. I think we would find more value out of it with training for our whole team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed something to track very specific events across mobile & web and wanted full customization of our reports. I love how you can customize everything about a report, from the device someone is using to the direction they are clicking things, it has been very valuable for us in understanding our users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have someone to fully own this product. They will need to learn the product very well and set up all the events & naming conventions for those events.
Gaining better analytic insight is easy.

I like how easy it is to set up my own KPIs. And, the onboarding was super easy, direct, and me up and running fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I can think of at this time.

We're gaining much deeper insights into our data and are able to present it in easy to understand, consumable visualizations.
