High-Performance NoSQL Database

  • September 24, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I highly recommend giving ScyllaDB a try. ScyllaDB is a powerful, open-source database that serves as a drop-in replacement for Apache Cassandra and is designed to make the most of modern hardware.

What I like best about ScyllaDB is its blazing fast performance and efficient use of modern hardware. It takes full advantage of multi-core CPUs, RAM, and SSDs, delivering much better performance compared to similar NoSQL databases like Cassandra. The automatic tuning and self-optimization features also stand out, as they reduce the need for constant manual configurations, making it easier to maintain peak performance without much effort. Additionally, ScyllaDB's ability to scale easily while maintaining low latency, even with a massive data load, is another key feature I appreciate.
What do you dislike about the product?
While ScyllaDB is Cassandra-compatible, Cassandra has a more mature and extensive ecosystem with more third-party tools and integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
High Throughput with Low Latency
Scalability without Downtime
ScyllaDB’s auto-tuning and self-optimizing features reduce the operational complexity

Scylla DB the Monster DB

  • September 24, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
ScyllaDb is extensively used with 22 clusters with horizontal scaling and its does wonders even with the community edition of it. The throughput and scale of the DB is just monstrous.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some application users focussing on strong consistency are skeptic to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has great thorughput and minimal issues running a complex cluster as compared to cassandra

Efficiency, Speed, and Reliability

  • September 24, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Scylla DB is designed to be highly efficient, utilizing a close-to-the-metal design that minimizes overhead. This allows it to achieve higher performance with fewer resources compared to other NoSQL databases like Apache Cassandra. For instance, Scylla DB can reduce cluster sizes to a fraction of what Cassandra requires, leading to significant cost savings and greater return on investment
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up ScyllaDB can be more complex compared to other databases like PostgreSQL or ClickHouse. It may not be as straightforward and could require more effort to get everything running smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ScyllaDB solves several key problems, offering high throughput and low latency

What do you like best about the product?
ScyllaDB is highly praised for its impressive performance and scalability. It is designed to handle large volumes of data and high throughput with low latency, making it ideal for real-time applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its open-source version lacks some advanced features found in the enterprise version, potentially limiting functionality for some users. Additionally, while it is compatible with Cassandra, there can still be nuances and challenges during migration.

What do you like best about the product?
It extracts the full computing power of modern infrastructure. Written from the ground up in C++, ScyllaDB doesn’t suffer from Java overhead.

Data is distributed across clustered servers per CPU core and free from resource sharing operations
What do you dislike about the product?
still seems to be some features issues, but customer support is very friendly and responsive to fix it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ScyllaDB has 2x-5x better throughput and much better latencies than Cassandra 4.0

Optimal nosql solution for scalability

  • July 28, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Scylladb prooved to be our one stop solution for all our database needs. It provides number of features like high scalblity, auto sharding, low latency and high performance db engine along with fine tuning of the shard level configuration. The best thing was it provide tablet monitoring where i can see query performance and output. We often use it for planty of use cases and best part is it is easy to integrate and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first glance enterprise edition would be difficult to grasp due to wide range of option in the scylladb monitoring dashboard. customer support & documentation can be improved. ALso all features compared to other dbs are still under development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scylladb being a nosql db provide alot of features with cloud native applications. Previously we used dynamodb for our use cases so the transition with scylladb was very easy having alot of functionality on top of it. Data districution with tablet is one of the key feature that enhances our database usage and personally i like it's monitoring dashboard which is quiet user-friendly and easy to use.
