Strong contender from IBM for Governance, Risk & Control Platform for Enterprises

  • March 05, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very detailed options to manage and monitor operational risks for the organization. The way OpenPages manages KPIs and workflows, it becomes very efficient for Operational risk team to manage their day to day operations and audits without much of a hassle.

Overall user experience and visual reporting of the tool makes it very intuitive to use for not only Operational team but also for management team who are owning those risks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Long and tedious implementation cycle could be frustrating at times. However, well defined processes and implementation strategy would take away lot of these hassles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has enabled complete coverage of managing all sorts of operational risk from different departments of the organization.

No more spreadsheet based risk management since OpenPages has enabled access to the end user directly and it has helped in ensuring overall effectiveness of the controls.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
OpenPages has been great GRC platform and IBM has continuously invested in this product over a period of time.

You should definitely consider evaluating OpenPages if you are in search of a GRC platform. Though there are other good competitor products available in market, this one is strong contender too.

implementation turns out to be on a higher side if not managed effectively. I would strongly recommend to get help from IBM or Partner consultant for implementation of the tool.

As far as overall coverage is concerned, it will be difficult if you plan to do a big bang roll out of the system considering complexity involved for different departments and geographies. Instead, evaluate phased approach for implementation which will help in not only fortifying key business areas first but it will also help in increased adoption of the tool.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've implemeneted OpenPages many times & I've seen its customization potential & comprehensiveness

  • February 17, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
The tool out-of-box is very comprehensive. With minimal config it delivers any clients requirements. The upgrades to task-forced UI, workflow engine & calculations has made life easier
What do you dislike about the product?
Many pain points but at top 2 things, no bulk user creation option & profiles cant be exported & imported with UI. There is aura tool which runs on Java 1.5 but has never worked for us. Other paint points are: The out-of-box TaskForced UI does not carry full range of associations like Standard UI. Links on Cognos still direct to Standard UI. No duplication feature for views, workflows etc. Not all admin features are on TaskForced UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many silo systems do what OpenPages does but where OpenPages stands out is centralized & shared Risk, Control & Process registers and a holistic picture for each artifact.

IBM open pages can be a great tool if it was more user friendly to others.

What do you like best about the product?
We use it house all policies in the company and this is a good platform for everyone to access policies in one area.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as user friendly the layout of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is a lag time with working with IBM directly when it comes to fixing or implementing logics and testing prior to launching when its live.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand what the vendor has to offer before investing into using their platform.
