Great Tool to Protect You From Spam, Virus, URL and Phishing
What do you like best about the product?
All the bad actors are trying to attack your company with different types of email campaigns. ProofPoint can guard your users from mistakes they make before they can open an email. About 99% of all bad email is stopped by ProofPoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is not cheap.Spam protection is one price then each protection that is added is another price. All the tools add up quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ProofPoint helps keep email inboxes full of legitimate email. Keeps the spam, phishing, and virus out of our environment.

What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint does a great job of eliminating threats while keeping false positives to a minimum.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike is I wish they would simply price all of their email products as all inclusive instead of bolt on packages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are utilizing their full suite of products to provide safe email to our employees while proactively eliminating threats.

Its the best in the business. Its easy to setup.

What do you like best about the product?
Customer Service is helpful and efficient. Everytime I have an issue I'm able to easily log a ticket and have a support specialist review within hours depending on the business impact.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Proofpoint security platform is so vast its hard to be an expert in everything. For smaller shops with a limited security staff this can be a daunting task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping reduce the phishing volume our organization faces. Proactively protecting our end users. Giving our users the ability to easily manage their inbox without all the extra spam and clutter.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ProofPoint is the top of its class. It may be more expensive than others but the price is well worth the functionality.
Excellent tool for Adapting Email Security to your Environment
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint is constantly on the forefront of email security technologies, always debuting new technologies that we are able to use to improve the security and efficiency of our environment. Email Fraud Defense, URL Rewrite, TAP sandboxing, etc. were all things they implemented when those things were on the cutting edge.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not fully cloud infrastructure yet because of their TRAP infrastructure, I understand it will be available near end of year. The old smart search is very outdated, can't search on header information. This has been corrected with their Beta Smart Search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cleaning up Spam, separating regulation of Spam mail and Junk/bulk mail. Routing our different partners in unique ways depending on their requirements. Preventing malware delivery, spoofing, phishing, etc. Applying email tags visible to customers based upon different information within the mail packet
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Limit your spam exceptions, use exceptions for junk and bulk rather than for spam. 99% of user complaints will come from junk and bulk rather than spam.
Utilize email tags for your end users whether in the subject line or with an html banner, it gives users a sense of normalcy to be able to see colored banners or specific words identifying emails they may be more able to trust vs. those that they should be wary of.

A Stellar Mail Filter
What do you like best about the product?
The product is very reliable and thorough. Over the years, I've grown to trust it completely.
What do you dislike about the product?
The modularity, which makes for nice granularity, also makes mastery of the product a tad more difficult. It does take some time to understand the interplay ha hierarchy of the modules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The greatest risk to the security of our network is an attempt by a bad actor to infiltrate our security through phishing and malware. Between the scanning/identification capability of Proofpoint, URL defense neutralizes all but zero-day threats. Even a high percentage of those are caught before my users have a chance to make a mistake.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare this product to others on the market. Negotiate the price aggressively.
Proofpoint is a Solid Cloud Email Protection Suite
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint is very flexible, and allows me to create an array of rules to meet the needs of my business.
What do you dislike about the product?
No API access around usage statistics that I would like to be able to pull.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Of course, standard AV/Spam protection, but I'm also able to create specific rules that meet my needs, like being alerted every time an impersonation attack hits where the bad actor is trying to appear as an executive. I'm also able to pull email out of users' mailboxes if it is learned to be malicious after-the-fact.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the many options and features that come with the Enterprise client. It is like having a very granular firewall. Ease of use and customization. Firewalls and policies are easy to implement. Help is very awesome and very knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI is a bit dated. Quality over aesthetics. It is still very easy to browse and very easy to implement. Other than that no real issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email spam, phishing, and other malware have been blocked. We have realized how much spam and phishing were going unreported. We are able to create reports and create rules that would prevent impersonations.
Proofpoint in my opinion is a next-gen-level email firewall system - very robust and efficient!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're experiencing a much more secure email environment with our Proofpoint service.
Quality of Life Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The granularity in Proofpoint for blocking senders, from address, host name, IPs, and Domains is a godsend. It will allow us to properly allow legitimate mail through while blocking malicious ones and reduce the risk of false positives.
What do you dislike about the product?
The encryption limits of Proofpoint are 25mb (uncompressed). For some this works, but others like myself have larger requirements for encryption.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a higher level of control over the content of email allowing us to now properly block/allow senders. In addition, being able to reach out to Proofpoint for FP/FN emails to update the engine is a great feature.

Proofpoint Email Security and Protection filters emails received by users, keeping them away from SPAM, Phishing and any malicious kinds of emails.
It also allows users to quarantine emails and send them for further analysis, or move them.
Another great thing about this software is that it constantly improves by learning at users use it, so it will be better and better as time goes by.
Lastly, allows users to move emails to a low priority inbox, so if they receive an email and it's not suspicious but the user don't want that in their mailbox, they can check on that later.
It also allows users to quarantine emails and send them for further analysis, or move them.

Even though this is not a big of a deal, the implementation of Proofpoint Email Security and Protection was a bit confusing for our users. Problem solved with simple documentation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proofpoint Email Security and Protection is being used by us as an email gateway kind of thing. It filters and gets rid of unwanted emails (SPAM, Phishing and other malicious emails) that users receive all the time.
It's a pretty good application that learns with time to improve even more the protection it provides users with, making the experience better as it goes.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep an eye on your digest (kind of quarantined emails report) to check your quarantined emails periodically.If something in there is actually not spam or phishing you can send it to your actual inbox with a couple clicks.
Also, as it learns with time, whenever you have the chance, mark emails as SPAM and do what you can to allow ProofPoint Email Security and Protection provide you with a continuously better experience.
