Fantastic Tool!

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to quickly see how much of your fleet meets CIS1/2 compliance and other items is awesome. Even better is how Protect offers way to remediate any non-compliance with Jamf Pro and Smart Groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup and the interface aren't quite as straight forward as I'd like. I definitely recommend following their setup instructions step by step before trying to do things on your own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are protecting our Macs from malware and monitoring for related issues. We believe Protect will also allow us to meet requirements regarding cyber security insurance as well.

Fantastic product

  • February 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy how easy it its to see how compliant our endpoint are and we can tailor the dashboard to show what we need to know right away. I found it easier to use than our previous solution and deployment was very easy, the engineer set us up so we were ready to go right away.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf Protect is not yet fully integrated into the Jamf Pro or Jamf Now dashboard though that is something they are working towards. I would like to see Jamf protect bundled with Jamf School or Jamf Now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to show compliance and endpoint protection, with Jamf Protect, we know they are always updating definitions when new attack vectors are found and now we have a simple way to demonstrate compliance.

Jamf Protect built for macOS

  • November 30, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Protect is an endpoint security solution that is purpose-built for macOS.
Very light-weight client provides native app experience with minimal impact to the end-user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of DLP functionalities.
The web interface could be confusing for a new user and takes time to get used to it.
The deployment is dependent on an MDM solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Same-day support for new macOS as and when Apple releases it is a great offering.
This allows upgrading to the latest macOS, and our devs are really happy as they can upgrade immediately to utilize the latest features and develops new apps/codes.
After integrating with Jamf Pro, we have achieved a significant level of automated/self-remediation workflows.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just go for it. In my opinion, there is no other product that has similar offerings and features.

Finally a security solution that is Mac first and integrates with Jamf Pro

  • November 24, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It uses Apple's security tools and native features but also builds on them. The dashboard is very good for setting top-level summaries. You can dive in as deep as you need or want to go for reporting. What it does is also customizable. You can have events that trigger actions in Jamf Pro to remediate, notify, or protect the device/user.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a pro tool which means it does take more time to set up and configure. It seems a bit expensive given it uses so much of Apple's technology that is already baked into macOS and also requires a separate paid Jamf Pro subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have many staff who are not careful with how they use their computer. Jamf Pro allows us to be notified of threats or actions we do not allow. There are also the usual threats out there that anyone, regardless of how tech-savvy they are, should be protected against.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It makes Mac management much easier. No third-party tools to try and manage alongside Jamf Pro. Definitely worth it and the Jamf people are great to work with. If you have questions or concerns, just ask. They are very helpful and not high-pressure sales types.

Purpose-Built Protection and Insights for Mac

  • October 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the integration with Jamf Pro and the fact that this product was purpose-built for the mac. It doesn't feel like a Windows product ported over to the Apple environment. The dashboard of CIS benchmarks has been a great tool for securing our environment and maintaining a baseline of compliance. It also gives us more significant insights into the built-in Apple protections such as Gatekeeper, Xprotect, and MRT, which other products ignore.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some portions of the interface could still use some refinement, such as the alerts page. I also wish more metadata was available via the Jamf Pro integration, such as the endpoint's assigned user. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, the navigation around the portal isn't as intuitive as it could be. Also, the inability to implement a different IDP without reaching out to Jamf is frustrating, considering other Jamf cloud products allow admins to manage this directly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are maintaining zero-day protection for our mac endpoints, gathering actionable alerts and analytics while filtering out the noise that would be generated by competing, Windows-first products. Jamf Protect enables us to respond to incidents with a small infosec team more efficiently.

Jamf Protect - Security tool for your Macs

  • October 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Day One support for your Macs. When your users upgrade or buy a new mac with the latest OS your device is protected from Day One.
Scanning of the device is only looking for relevant threats to the mac platform. Users aren't losing system performace why the machine is looking for threats that are only relevant to other platforms.
Additional, there is a full breakdown of the threat, where it came from and when, what the process tree it spawned, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have a link in jamf protect to a specific device in Jamf Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can allow our users to be on the most secure opperation systems on Day One. Our Security software doesn't force us to hold back deploying the hardware our users want, causing them to go out of band to get their computer.
We have gained greater visibility into threats to our organization and pivot to protect our devices.
