The use of no bound to AD macOS devices for our organization

Specifically Engineered for macOS

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF Protect is a lightweight solution compared with other vendors security solutions, which enjoys zero day support for macOS releases, meaning when Apple drops new major updates to its operating systems support is directly available. The product has been heavily developed in its brief lifespan adding enterprise features at a rapid pace. JAMF Protect can be automatically deployed from JAMF Pro, saving extra glue during device onboarding. Compared to other vendor solutions we have tried there have been basically zero product issues with JAMF Protect. The EDR data can feed into certain SIEM solutions, giving a single pane of glass for all security events. This solution does also employ traditional on-demand scanning to meet this security requirement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, it is a great product and we are very happy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previous anti-virus solution had a history of never being close to supporting new macOS releases and was a terrible mess of product issues typically lasting up to 9 months after the latest macOS release. JAMF Protect has always worked early on in the macOS beta cycle and always worked on launch day. We also were looking to add EDR to our protective measures.

Comprehensive endpoint security suite for macOS

  • October 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Day 0 support; Protect is macOS only and leaves legacy baggage out (ported over Windows or linux products); on-device processing and detection focus for security and privacy; automation with jamf
What do you dislike about the product?
Protect covers a large area of Endpoint Security (malware, threat prevent, EDR, eDLP) and for macOS administrators who aren't familiar with macOS and the new Endpoint Security frameworks Apple added since Catalina, some of these things are more difficult to communicate to others for understanding. Jamf could make additional documentation, comparisons, examples available to help this point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nothing good comes from ported over Security solutions as many administrators know. Protect solves that plus does not place a dependency on macOS updates with its guaranteed Day 0 support.
