Big fan of Tines. Easy onboarding, easy to use, and has had a massive impact for our SecOps team.

What do you like best about the product?
Tines has an incredibly quick turnaround time, from onboarding, to implementing your first automation Story.
The ease of integrating with other tools within the Security Stack is simply awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be awesome to see better access to template/sample stories via the site/docs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines is helping with alleviating the workload of a small SecOps team. Tines is moving the team from a notification overload environment to a highly efficient response team.

It is a sophisticated SOAR product and has a high affinity with SIEM, indispensable part of our SOC

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can easily express the scenario I have in mind. It's also very flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had a hard time working with services that require unique authentication methods that Tines does not support. I talked to help, and they were able to resolve the issue quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are automating processes that do not necessarily need to be carried out by humans. For example.
1. Automated security alerts that should be checked periodically
- Currently, we have multiple monitoring points. This is now automatically aggregated using Tines so that we only see if there is an alert that needs to be checked.
2. Automated analysis of phishing and spam emails
- We have ground-truthed data from multiple sources. This was automatically collected and formatted by Tines so that it could be viewed, which greatly reduced the time needed to make decisions.
3. Automatically update the Blocklist of monitoring points based on alerts output from SIEM.
4. ChatOps has been realized
- Reputation checks for IPs and domains can be easily performed from Slack. It also made it easier to connect to subsequent actions.

Tines: Like the legos of security automation

What do you like best about the product?
The pre-built modules make integrating with existing security tooling a breeze + the ability to paste a curl command and have it automatically marked up is extremely useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, if the app you're trying to integrate with doesn't offer an API, you may have to get creative, but their engineers will bend over backwards to help out customers, even in trial periods!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're streamlining our phishing response, making slackbots, and helping surface more relevant siem alerts.

Tines at Snowflake

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the abundance of integrations and the modular nature. Since it uses base protocols and webhooks to chain systems together, we spend less time worrying about the stability of the middleware between 2 different APIs. Also, the GUI programming makes the design of automations very accessible to all levels (analysts, leads, technical managers/directors) of the IR team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is a little sparse in terms of explaining some of the concepts. It's efficient and says only what's necessary, but sometimes you need a little more to fully "plug in" and wrap your head around the vision. Some of the tutorials fill this gap, but some exposure to the what the QA process for Tines-approved integrations looks like or some high-level diagrams would be helpful for leads, architects, or aspiring automation engineers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The IR team gained the capability to run response and remediation actions per the logic outlined in our IR playbooks. Our analysts can respond to events emitted by our detection platform around-the-clock by leveraging stories made by others.

Easy to use automation software that integrates all of your SaaS tools

  • November 01, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tines is an easy-to-use tool that integrates all of our SaaS tools so we can set up automation for onboarding and offboarding new employees. Tines support is really good and easy to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tines setup takes a small amount of coding knowledge, but it is easy to pick up while configuring your instance. SSO integration can be tricky. Tines can improve with documentation, but their support can be responsive enough to make up for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the onboarding of new hires and off-boarding employees leaving the company through automation. We are more productive because we have more time to focus on other aspects of our job
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your organization has repeated tasks for one thing, Tines will save you a lot of time and effort once it has been setup and configured.

Tines' innovation becomes YOUR innovation

What do you like best about the product?
Tines allows my team to create rapid integrations between systems, processes, and people without tedious protocol and API plumbing. When programming small integrations, the core code for the "job at hand" tends to be relatively small, but all of the surrounding support code makes up all the bulk of the development time. Tines turns the support code into a drag and drop operation - accelerating time to completion while also creating a more supportable solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't yet discovered anything I don't like. The team at Tines is simply amazing. The tech is easy to follow, easy to work with, and infinitely flexible. The solution opportunities created by Tines are endless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The journey with Tines started with integrating several standard corporate workflow tools (chat, ticketing, HR, and identity stores) to improve the speed and nimbleness of access request workflows. The work done to accomplish this built the foundation for what will become a highly automated onboarding and offboarding solution. We've built exciting identity solutions without the cost and complexity of a lumbering and expensive identity management suite. One of the most significant benefits occurs when programmed scripts, which are often only understood by one person, get transitioned into a Tines "Story." Afterward, the entire team can see the integration plumbing and support it collectively.

Great product, wonderful team

What do you like best about the product?
Wonderful team and great product. Easy to pick up once you play around with it. Anything with an API can be integrated with it, making the options very flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I could think of that I dislike. What is kind of a challenge at times is the error messaging that came back when trying to build some stories from the actions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating the basic analytical work, leveraging ticketing system to investigate the IOCs further, using the free analytical tools to provide the analysis in a centralized place, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out and you'll see.

Hits a sweet spot!

What do you like best about the product?
As I work for a small business, Tines community edition has enabled me to automate some repetitive tasks as reusable modular stories. I’m experiencing real value from my automation stories so far, allowing me to maintain focus on moving our security program forward, and I’ve not hit my limit yet!
I’ve used other SOAR tools in the past, but Tines is my new favorite.
• Low learning curve; you don’t need to be a developer.
• A smorgasbord of integration & automation possibilities.
• Real value just using the free community edition.
• Great guidance and support via the community.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s hard to fault Tines, especially as I can do so much with the free community edition; if I had to pick one thing, it would be the need to use liquid template language for some of the more advanced transform actions in a story. However, community help & examples solved any challenges i encountered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
• Repetitive tasks related to incident detection & response.
• Analysis of suspicious Domain & URL analysis & blocking via chatbots.

Laser-focused on Automation and a Blast to Use

  • August 17, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Unlike other vendors in the SOAR space, Tines focuses on being great at one thing: automation. This focus shows throughout the product and results in something that is not only easy to learn but also makes the product a joy to use. Before Tines, my team would avoid complex automation problems. After Tines, we could not wait to develop creative solutions and engage with the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation on Liquid syntax (required for some more complex solutions) could benefit from expansion. At times, the use of Liquid can feel like a half-measure towards having a fully-featured scripting language available in the platform. In general, though, the available actions and Liquid syntax can solve for almost every use case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines was able to help us address a wide variety of operational use cases, including chatbots, case management, self-service forms, alert enrichment, and more.

I have used Tines to automate a lot of actions in our SOC.

What do you like best about the product?
Its flexibility. You can really create a playbook for anything you can imagine. The tool is very easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of points in a story that can break and it isn't always clear what the issue is. Troubleshooting syntax-related issues takes a lot of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly threat intelligence enrichment. Minimising analyst triage time by automating a lot of the response actions.
