Useful tool for users and admins too
What do you like best about the product?
Gives a really cool additional layer and a good overview to see the incoming threads. The UI is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see more reports, action items or notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Adds an additional layer to our SPAM filter to filter out emails, with extra intelligence.

in 6 months it has already stopped multiple account take-overs
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Barracuda Impersonation for 6 months, and the at-a-glance visibility it gives us into the state of our user's accounts is invaluable. Already it has stopped several account take over attempts, by alerting us when an account was being accessed from outside the country or when rules were being created for an account. The easy to use step-by-step account review has helped us verify nothing malicious has gone out of our user's accounts, and clamp down immediately when an alert goes off.
We were able to set it up in 15 minutes and were up and running checking all our user's connectivity for the past month on the same day. Connecting it to M365 was a breeze, and it uses robust connection APIs. We use this every day.
Barracuda support has always been just a phone call away, and they always have answers to all our communication questions.

What do you dislike about the product?
It would be fantastic if it played a larger role within the M365 ecosystem. Micorosft has a larger ID Threat Protection platform, but it's cumbersome and difficult to get going, and requires advanced licensing.
Barracuda gives us some of that functionality, but additional reporting like device compliance, or additional user Identity metrics would be extremely helpful.

Visibility into account take over, alerts on suspicious activity, protects against phishing attacks.

Great customer support and east of use to accomany a great product.

So far we have not had any downsides to it.

Keeping the email better protected than simple built in security from Microsoft.

What do you like best about the product?
Best thing about Impersonation Protection is that we are notified immedately if there is even a hint of abnormal access. We know when junk is junk and it protects our users who may not always pay attention to details.
Support is wonderful if I have to call in and they helped with configuration making it a breeze to start.

It assist us mainly with user error and protection.
Barracuda Impersonation Protection
What do you like best about the product?
Barracuda Impersonation Protection keeps us informed of possible security issues. Users are the most likey to cause a security issue by allowing harmful actors to access business resources so this protection adds a much needed layer of protection. The portal allows easy use and the setup and integration has been seamless with our Office 365.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some users feel that the protection can be too strict in how it processes the scanning.

Keeping fraudulant emails from hitting our Office 365 system.

High detection efficacy and real-time remediation capabilities

Occasional false positives but I'll note it's easy to mark them as such

Instant alerts for account takeovers, detection and auto reponse for phishing e-mails and impersonation protection that sends alerts immediatley.

It's a powerful tool for any team, there are a lot features that we were able to leverage. I love the integration of all the products, it provides peace of mind and insight. It's the best solution for large companies.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be very help´ful if all reporting configuration was under a single interface, their admin system was a bit complicated to understand.

It allows users to perform analysis and research, the product has a series of integrations with its entire platform. They offer easy-to-use tools to solve any threat, allowing us to take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
Our Experience using Barracuda Impersonation Protection for Higher Ed
What do you like best about the product?
Barracuda Impersonation Protection has been a great purchase for our university. Previously, our faculty and staff were getting many spoofed emails..........and many of them appearing to come from C level executives, including President and CFO. Even though we mandate training, we still wanted a backup protection.
Since implementing IP, the overwhelming majority of these spoofs get caught and the end user never sees them, other than an email notifaction that Barracuda had intercepted a rouge email.

What do you dislike about the product?
There haven't been a lot of downsides to the platform............other than we have had several false positives. It is a platform that you want to keep a regular check on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The spoofed emails to our user base appearing to come from C level execurives...........including the President, CFO, COO, etc.
We were having many of those get delivered before Barracuda, and even some users interacting with those emails.
But we are seeing very little of those get delivered now that we have implemented Barracuda IP.

Works very well and good protection
What do you like best about the product?
it really drills down to which emails are being impersonated , where they are from , what email domain its coming from. It has a easy to use interface and it was very easy to implement. Customer support is outstanding for any issues we had. It easily integrates with our microsoft 365 enviroment and LDAP. We use very much often.
What do you dislike about the product?
Alerts and intelligence. I also find that the information we see is not the same as customer support. it would be nice to see what they see as well.

its solving the issue where emails come from imposters acting like internal leadership folks at the school and also staps scammers from acting and getting direct deposit info

What do you like best about the product?
The Spear phishing protection parts of this alone has reduced the amount of time spent tackling email by drastic amounts and I use this every day. Use and administration is easy and the ability to gain information to further investigate the email is great. Support calls to Barracuda are always quickly answered, and has been great. We used support services for integration and it was aq uick and easy implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the account takeover parts had better information, however I understand that this is also at the mercy of Microsoft and 365 so it's still much better than what we had previously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We previously spent countless hours chasing down messages and purging them manually. This just works and reduced that to a minute fraction of the time (if any) spent doing that work.
