What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of things are going on in the database world right now, beginning from the various enterprise constraint on the usage of data warehouses and data lakes, industry is looking for a long term partner to help them in their journey because of a change in Database world require;lt of data engineering effort and results in higher cost. Tibero still has to prove its worth for organizations to undertake it as a potential solution for their DB needs and expect it to evolve with the changing enterprise needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps in keeping the cost low and provides integration with various enterprise-grade products that are often hard to manage and require a high data engineering tine.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Companies working on legacy technology can use Tibero for great support to a new tech world
Enterprise Performance and Scalability
What do you like best about the product?
We run a large number of different transaction processing applications, and Tibero DBMS (version 6) has met all of our criteria. With redundancy and security being the most important aspects of transaction processing, our tiered middleware applications run without issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation is straightforward and the DB comes with a GUI to monitor performance and system issues, however documentation of some of the more granular features is missing, Tibero 6 is the most up to date version, and doesn't suffer from some of the issues that previous versions had, nonetheless it is a robust DB for enterprise level clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run a number of business critical applications that need to operate in realtime, including transaction processing, data analysis and more, so the most important is no down time, speed, security and cost saving on licencing fees. Out of the box it doesn't disappoint. Not as well known a vendor as IBM DB2, or Oracle 12C, but they have been around for a long time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Enterprise class database solution with lower licensing fees and security that allows mission critical business applications to run effectively without too many hiccups, GUI for monitoring system status and relatively easy to port if you know command line.
A good alternative and to Oracle DB, ports easy and is very secure.
What do you like best about the product?
Security and ease of migration from Oracle. A common attack on databases is to replace true data with false data. Oracle handles this type of attack by digitally “signing” data so that any change is the data values will produce different “signatures” and would trigger a warning. So this simple class of attack should be neutralized. Tibero provides a higher level of compatibility with other DBMS compared to competitors. Tibero
also has an automated migration tool and easily integrates with heterogeneous DBMS through its
flexible DB link compatibility.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not too much, maybe more help with some initial setup questions. Some of the documentation isn't straightforwards enough. Tibero DBMS Admin function is fast and efficient for monitoring purposes and also has an integrated GUI tool, however there is a learning curve for anyone new to the platform. Configuring kernel parameters had some issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lower the licensing costs of Oracle, which had a smaller feature set. We needed a feature rich and easy to deploy alternative to Oracle DB.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The big players are under threat from both open source and smaller niche providers, this provider has history but is less well known, the ease of porting from Oracle was one advantage and less licensing costs.
