Essential for my job as a Technical Writer
What do you like best about the product?
It makes it so easy to make nice professional looking flowcharts.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a little bit of a learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a Technical Writer for a BioTech company and one of my main duties is to write SOPs that include a flowchart. After struggling to make nice flowcharts in word (and taking up a lot of time) I went in search of something better and I found Lucid Charts that allows me to make flowcharts that are better looking and easier in a fraction of the time it would take me in word.

Easy alternative to Visio
What do you like best about the product?
Easier to use than Visio. No local software to install.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using the lines can be a bit odd. Sometimes, it is not easy to move items around that are already connected by lines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Process flow mapping.
Decent Usage with issues regarding Google Drive
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can easily make charts for myself and others to edit.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had a lot of issues with adding it to a team shared chrome drive. Anytime someone shares it within the drive I can never navigate to that particular document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I haven't solved any business problem, but I have solved charts I needed to make for my classes.
Great substitute for Visio
What do you like best about the product?
I think the ease of use is LucidChart's best feature. I can create any process diagram or org chart in just minutes with templates and easy to use controls. The new presentation mode is a very interesting feature that I need to use more. I like the fact that the product consistently sees updates and improvements.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of customization and visual options. The limited design capabilities is difficult for someone who is specializes in graphic design. I get by in Lucidchart but there needs to be more formatting options and more options to customize process maps with pictures or other visual content. The photo uploader and cloud is also difficult, crashing sometimes and not uploading files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In most cases, I use LucidChart to specifically design processes, before and after diagrams, and org charts. While most colleagues cannot show simple process diagrams, I can easily update or build a diagram that is both informative and tailored to the audience.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a inexpensive option compared to Visio, this is an excellent program that is simple to use and easy to learn.
Amazing academic writing tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the flexibility this program has to offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could copy a figure and past it into a word document without having to first download it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I create figures, diagrams, and statistical model displays using this software. It is much quicker and more flexible than diagraming in PowerPoint. Have, and continue to recommend this to all my academic peers!
Lucidchart is a viable and preferable alternative to Visio for creating technical diagrams.
What do you like best about the product?
Lucidchart is a platform-neutral way to create appealing diagrams in both industry-standard and also ad-hoc styles. The user experience is remarkably responsive, published images are suitable for projected presentations and printed documents, the product is well-integrated with Google tools (for sign-on and saving) and the fidelity of diagrams is nicely preserved when exported for colleagues that prefer desktop tools, such as MS Visio, MS Word and Adobe Photoshop.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am a big fan of Lucidchart but would share two modest concerns: I have benefited from having changes saved automatically, as documents are updated but, unfortunately, the feature has prevented me from reverting to or revisiting previous versions; it can be helpful to number the shapes in a flowchart but, unfortunately, that is a manual and time consuming process in the most current version of Lucidchart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I rely on Lucidchart flowcharts and sequence diagrams to illustrate that I have listened carefully and confirm that I have learned from my clients during requirements gathering sessions. In addition, I use LucidChart to draw site maps and data models which help to reinforce recommendations for improving business processes and architecting applications and databases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent alternative to MS Visio, particularly when working on teams that are distributed geographically and have not standardized on a single productivity suite or operating platform.
Lucid Chart
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to quickly create process maps and reconfigure on the fly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Saving of files and moving to folders can get cumbersome at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team works better seeing a nice visual flow chart, rather than a bulleted list. Lucid Chart allows me to quickly create these for presentations as well as team training.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can afford going up from the trail, it is worth the price.
Flexible diagramming solution on any platform
What do you like best about the product?
Works in any browser on (almost) any computer. I work in a heterogeneous computing environment and I travel, a lot, so being able to access all of the diagrams on any computer is incredible valuable to me.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little clunky UI sometimes with lots of wasted space. If they could make better use of space it would be a tremendous benefit for those of us forced to use tablets, MS Surface, small form factor laptops.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Lucidchart to clearly communicate the details of complex business problems. After meetings, it's easy for people to go away with different understandings of what was said. A single diagram of the discussed concepts makes the shared understanding of the group consistent and concrete.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will leave behind some of the really intensely sophisticated features of products like Omnigraffle, but you'll find that speed and ease of use and deployment is worth it.
Great product!
What do you like best about the product?
I'm a graduate student and I've used Lucidchart for many class assignments. It's simple, elegant and intuitive to use, allowing me to easily create great looking flow chards and logic models. Highly recommended!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that it were easier to change the orientation of the flow (e.g. if I created a flowchart in landscape and want to switch it to portrait). Perhaps this functionality exists somewhere, but I find myself having to move a lot of things around to accomplish this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm learning about user experience design and research, and Lucidchart has given me the ability to better visualize the ways in which my user's experience will unfold.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for visualizing user experience processes.
A Business Analyst Must Have Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It keeps getting better and better. Easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have never been disappointed when I use this application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wireframes are a necessary for any developer to help them understand what the business is looking for. Lucidchart is my go to tool for wireframes.
