Year and a half with Lucidchart

  • March 24, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
Essentially the combination of both UML, relational and UI mockups all in one place. I can use Lucidchart for all phases of development without need for other analytical tools.

And then I can both collaborate with others and present my stuff with Lucidchart.

Also recently the integration with google documents, its extremely easy just sketch something and paste it into documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Iam all happy. I would preffer to have "prettier" UI elements. Also instead of image object, some mock image would be perfect. Maybe even some basic styling to be added, so I can present not only structure, but also a basic view (but without a need to write any css or stat stuff).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application development, mainly gaming, gambling and shopping. Analysis and then management of a team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dont worry about the switch, once you are there you have everything always accessible and on one place.

Wonderful tool

What do you like best about the product?
I do process improvement for housing crisis response systems across the state of Texas; it is called Coordinated Entry in United States Department of Housing and Urban Development-speak. I love how easy it is to map out the before and after of various systems across the system. It truly is a wonderful tool - easy to learn and use. I have recommended it to my colleagues across the country that do the same job.
What do you dislike about the product?
I use the free version since I work for a non-profit. While I know that y'all want us to upgrade, it is a little frustrating how limited it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with providers across the state of Texas to make their housing crisis response systems more client friendly and to make homelessness brief, rare, and non-recurring. Because Lucidchart helps show the before and after of systems, it helps people in the various communities I work in see what needs to be done to truly create systems change. Thank you for making my job easier, Lucidchart!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it. If you do a lot of system mapping, you'll find that this is the best and easiest tool to use.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Easy to Use, Easy to Share, Easy to Collaborate

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid Charts makes it easy to collaborate on diagrams. Our organization uses the integrations with Slack, Google Drive, and JIRA.
What do you dislike about the product?
After moving from free accounts to a paid account, it was too difficult to move existing data into the main account. I realize that import / export is a limitation of the free accounts but I would have liked to have had a one time import option when moving to a paid account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software Development, Business Requirements, Flow Charts, Documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Contact Lucid Charts excellent customer support to work with you on an evaluation product / period. Much better than starting with multiple free account and converting later.

What do you dislike about the product?
harder to make swim lanes for process maps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My current projects include increasing landfill diversion rate from 43% to 69% and increasing the effectiveness of online College courses.

Visio on the go +

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When building network diagrams, I like how easy it is to create objects in the fly just y dropping them into the design.

In many ways, the look and fell is like visio, but minus the learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
Loading times for larger diagrams could be better, as well as exporting/importing visio diagrams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We always need network diagrams. This makes sharing and collaboration a breeze.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play with it.

What do you like best about the product?
It's fairly intuitive - where to find what, how to created documents, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a limit of elements that can be added to a diagram
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting the architecture of our systems and our processes. Provides a clean visual for all accessing these documents.

Overall experience really good

  • March 24, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
The dynamically indicated spacing when objects are placed on screen is awesome. I have a near OCD level issues with asymmetric designs. The spacing option fixed that instead of having to rework the complete design.
What do you dislike about the product?
The absence of colour highlighting of specific blocks could have been a welcome feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently a student. Business options not explored yet. Signal and data fliw diagrams for designed chips done.

some recurrent notifications
ergonomics of some layouts

no need of visio
sharing charts among users
Recommendations to others considering the product:
less google-dependent

Excellent tool for quick diagrams

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is intuitive and very powerful, and there are lots of good features that make drawing connected diagrams very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the ability to add richer custom shapes, with connection points, text fields, alternative defaults for line style etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Lucid Chart for quickly sketching out system diagrams and database schematics. It is the quickest and most flexible tool I have come across.

Flexibility

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Lucidchart on my Mac, my iPad, and on my Windows 8 desktop machine. The ability to work on the same document seamlessly across devices is an absolute key selling point for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. Some features are not available in all the clients - but then I simply don't use those features so it's not really an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network modeling is key. Having a consistent template for architecture designs has been very useful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good replacement for Visio on the desktop for me - especially given that I'm a Mac user.
