Great for our small Business
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use for us, we did not have any experience at setting up tablets that are being used by our technicians in the field.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like to be able to set up remote login passwords for the entire device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security and customer data. With the ability to see usage and control apps, we can now make sure all of our data can be recovered and is safe.
Easy set up, minimal time investment, simple-to-use security - should have joined years ago
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is clean and organized; navigation and customization are intuitive. Documentation is comprehensive, concise, and easy to understand, and the support team has been nothing but helpful. We love the generous 100-device limit on the free tier and the low learning curve as I introduce more departments to the software. It makes mobile device management easy for even non-technical people like our HR lead.
What do you dislike about the product?
That I didn't know about it sooner! If there is a downside, we haven't found it yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are transitioning from a paper-based shop routing system to a 100% digital system, which means we've rolled out about 40 new mobile scanners and other devices that present security risks if lost or stolen. As a small business, we can't afford to drop thousands on programs we *might* use in the future. Being able to lock down the scanners and track them from a central dashboard location means I can set it and forget it instead of spending 30 minutes per device playing whack-a-mole with whatever apps Android is installing this week.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
At least try it. The learning curve is almost nonexistent, and the free tier allows plenty of space to play with possibilities. I went from initial download to provisioning my first device in under 15 minutes - far better than trying to wrap my brain around custom server implementation or submitting a request form for a trial license.
Keep track of your devices
What do you like best about the product?
The customer support is outstanding, never seen so much willingness to help someone succeed with what they are doing. I had a rough time setting up an Android box since it was cheaper model, but very powerful. We were on Teams and they even called in a programmer to help us out, and he solved in a second since he - well - litteraly is building this software everyday. That video call made me feel very so much more then just great towards Esper.io as a company, I felt that even if this is way more for my needs - they will help me out.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little messy when you login at first, and it takes a while to get a hang on what everything does and how it works. But when you're starting to get hang on, you also start to understand how powerful this tool really is! Other then that, I can't really find anything, it's a steep learning curve, that's all I guess :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of my devices that I install at my customers premises. I can manage them without vising them! We can also cut down the configuration times we need for our android boxes. We can install and uninstall apps remotly, and we can even sign onto new WiFis if needed! There are also settings for restricting inputs of the boxes, so the customers can't tamper with them.
Great MDM, Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Pricing
The best thing is, that Esper is free for up to 100 devices.
Deployment of new versions
We use Esper to provide new Version of our own android apps to android tablets. Before using esper we had to upload the apk to every single device by our self. With Esper we assign the new Version to the existing group and the app is getting delivered to the tablets within 5 minutes.
Setup of new devices
With Esper you can create a template for provisioning new devices. The template contains the apps you want to install on the devices during provisioning. While provision the user scans the generated QR Code and everything sets it up by itself. You can also provide a wifi SSID and password.

What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment we have no problems with using Esper as our go to MDM Software.

Deploy new app versions to people from remote
It was very difficult to provide a new version to people that are remote. For example if the external sales department had a bug in there app, we had to do the update, when they are at the company. With Esper we can simplay upload the new App to the web console and the update is enrolled to all devices. It's also in queue for offline devices.

more than an MDM
What do you like best about the product?
Esper is easy to use and the setup was done very quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far no problems or dislikes, we are using Esper since 6 month
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were searching for a MDM solution for the tablets for our sales agents. We also wanted to manage our dev process of our internal apps. Esper is a very good tool for both topics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just create an account and set up a first test in a few minutes.
Esper
What do you like best about the product?
I like the battery alert and the ease of use for the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn’t anything that I dislike about esper.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If the battery is low, is it a device issue or something else bigger like they aren’t happy with the service and aren’t using my services. I can connect with the restaurants earlier.
Foodoutlet merchant tablet monitoring

Some of the best features Esper MDM has:
-Custom Web App
This feature is unique. When OS is loaded it opens a website in a full-screen encapsulated web view, where none of browser interface elements are visible. We were unable to find such a feature on any other MDMs on the market.
-Seamless device provisioning
ESPER provides multiple ways of device provisioning. First, you create a provisioning template and then QR code is generated. You switch on the factory reset tablet, scan the code and the device starts to get configured seamlessly. Internet connection is required.
-Mobile device screen preview
It is very important when a support engineer has the capability to view the device screen. It prevents common misinterpretations from the side of non-professional users. Especially, if the device has many features disabled it is also hard for the user to perform certain actions. Our case was exactly such.
-Enable/Disable apps/OS components
This is a very useful feature, that adds the capabilities to install, uninstall, enable, disable and even give/revoke access for each app installed on the device to particular OS interfaces, like Camera, Microphone, Location.
-User and device bulk management
-Comfortable notification trigger setup interface

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, when entered inside device configuration, device location and Apps was lagging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Foodoutlet is the marketplace app which connects food suppliers and consumers. In order to have a control over order workflow Foodoutlet developed a merchant app, installed on the tablets and gave the tablets to the merchants. In order to make successful technical support Foodoutlet used ESPER MDM as the tool to manage merchant tablets.
Great MDM Product
What do you like best about the product?
Easily able to manage all of our tablets and mobile devices around the state from anywhere and at any time. The Esper command console is easy to use and its also very easy to set devices up with Esper. We use the Kiosk mode on some of the devices that run Esper and it is very easy for our employees to use and navigate and its even easier for me to change what i want the employees to see while in kiosk mode. Being able to troubleshoot from afar and remote view has come in handy along with being able to push remote updates for applications on the devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that i dislike is that Esper does not work with Apple products, hopefully some day they will so we can have all of our devices on one platform. I really enjoy using esper and the low cost but having to run to different MDM products can be a hassle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote management, device troubleshooting. The benefits are that I don't have to travel to see what's going on with a device or talk to someone over the phone to walk them through troubleshooting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is very good mdm with lot of good features and for first 100 mobiles are free!
What do you like best about the product?
I think the good thing is that you can see all your fleet of mobiles on one place
What do you dislike about the product?
Thing that you can't create policy by your own will
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I ve solved a problem with unauthorized download of apps
