Powerful Tool

What do you like best about the product?
This is one of the best tool for checking logs, generating reports and metrics.
Very handy and provides lots of customizations to exact what we are looking out of the logs.
Using other apps like pager duty for getting sms and call alerts is very useful for timely acting on the prod issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not sure if there any things that can be disliked about Sumologic.
Bt yes, for tailing logs, it should show the history just like in log search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Debugging production/ non production issues is very easy.
Generating reports and sharing with other teams is very handy.
Alerting system is one of the best features. Integrating with pager duty has helped in responding to issues on time. (I used pager duty in my previous client)

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to start using and provides extreme benefit even without knowing how to do complex queries/parsing. Support is quick to respond and helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
Saved Items go under the user's account instead of the general company account. It'd be nice to at least choose

What do you like best about the product?
Sumologic is easy to use. We can create multiple log categories for each of our services. It integrates with AWS cloudwatch well. After sumologic groups our service logs into several meaningful categories, we can easily monitor and debug our system health and performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be more helpful if your website can provide more intuitive videos to explain how to create queries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitor the health and performance of our web services using logs and dashboards with Sumologic

What do you like best about the product?
The power of the query language, and the speed with which I can execute queries over _huge_ volumes of data. The ability to rapidly build dashboards for monitoring and showing metrics is _really_ snazzy too. It's also become an invaluable tool for troubleshooting bugs and incidents for $DAY_JOB.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some quirks to the query language, as powerful as it is, that can lead to some awkward code, e.g., not being able to use regex to _replace_ characters in strings. The UI can sometimes be _too_ smart and expose suggestion dropdowns instead of allowing me to simple navigate the query code using the arrow keys.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Metrics for monitoring. Troubleshooting application bugs and incidents.

I like how you can save and share your searches.

The UI is a bit clunky. It's not easy to find your way around the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are monitoring any issues with our single sign-on app and seeing where users run into problems. We have been able to identity places in the app that need improvement.

What do you like best about the product?
The documentation and features. I was able to find what I needed, either through searching on google, or by figuring it out in the user interface.

Would be great if there was first-class puppet support.

What do you like best about the product?
Sumologic makes it convenient to search and filter logs from multiple sources. I do not remember a time when the service was down or unavailable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The query language can be a little frustrating at times but it's somewhat understandable that it is designed the way that it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run several microservices. We definitely need a place to conveniently access all the logs so we aren't jumping from service to service in its physical (or virtual) location.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If the cost makes sense, it is worth a look

What do you like best about the product?
Sumo Logic provides a platform for viewing the output of any configured system in your business. Many of these tools exist, but Sumo allows for deep querying and clever visuals of data that I have not yet seen in industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the power that comes with Sumo Logic, there is a very steep learning curve to getting into any of the more advanced functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to immediately start digging into the source of errors in our system. The benefits have been immense, allowing us to share logs very quickly cross team.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to correlate searches across different log types as well as filtering down to the information I need is invaluable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not too much to dislike to be honest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem is the correlation mainly. Sumo gives that ability in aces.

Application Monitoring made easy

What do you like best about the product?
Sumo logic makes it easy to find training online and plenty of documentation to follow. Before I had an account, I was able to follow along with the certification training on YouTube and get a head start before the rest of my company got a chance to get official training. I don't normally contact support because all the information I need is readily available when I do a Google search. Otherwise, support responds pretty fast to my inquiries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our company uses G Suite, so I hate not having a single-click sign in with my Google account. The time-out for the logins are usually short, and I really don't want to setup 2-step verification or store my passwords in a browser. I would like it better if there was a mobile app that sent push notifications for alerts. For some alerts, the smallest interval you can set is 15 minutes, but I;d like to define whatever I want like 3 minutes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to get alerts as soon as something goes wrong, whether it be a status code error, or SSL certificates expiring. With Sumo Logic, I can set up alerts and have it sent to the right people when it happens. We also use Sumo Logic to set up dashboards and monitors on TVs around the office so everyone can see what's happening and have an open conversation about issues we need to fix.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go through the training videos on YouTube first, they are only about an hour long and helps you get started quickly.
