IBM DB2 is great utility in ENTERPISE
What do you like best about the product?
High Availability Disaster Recovery is one best feature when you have a vast user interaction and data grows exponentially on daily basis. It's makes relieved that there is HADR
What do you dislike about the product?
Recent project we had done using Informatica and heavy SQL Views, DB2 sort Memory error was very frequent thing we had to deal with
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
our client is Health Care Industry, we are doing a number of projects in health sector with IBM DB2

If you understand spreadsheet
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy as using a spreadsheet. Data can be extracted into a spreadsheet or even copied and pasted for analysis. Very straightforward concept of data management
What do you dislike about the product?
The sql aspect in search. If the error messages in search was more user friendly or less technical, it would accommodate more business users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Technical problems due to system tapping into data housed for functionality. Mining financial data is very easy since it is like a spreadsheet. Benefits are once you understand the fact this is basically a spreadsheets with different worksheets that joins to perform a function. Any problems can be solved by analysis.

It is easy to use and understand

Nothing that I know of. But, there's always scope of improvement. Probably move the DB2 workload to cheaper engines like Java worloads!!??

In my shop, I see most of the cpu is consumed on DB2 processing. DB2 processing is sometimes high CPU intensive

I was replicating a huge dataset and I encountered with memory management. Sometimes it also failed to connect with server.

IBM DB2 is quite pretty platform for everyone. It gives alot of which might be helpful for your project. Many developers and big organisation are working with it.

IBM Db2 can handle data marts and then come up into a bigger data warehouse which is very easy to implement if you know how to use ibm db2

I like the DB2 triggers most. It serves to deal with many functionality.

DB2 contention occurs while multiple jobs running in parrallel.

Capability to handle large sets of data with same speed

Not many to describe but I would be really happy if we can see relationship between tables in a schema with more ease.

Extracting millions of data by joining multiple tables. It is really quick and reliable to complete the request in no time.
