What do you like best about the product?
The support team is great. BDR interested in what we do and provides a new perspective in development.
Easy to integrate.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to keep an eye on the budget. The pricing may have some nuances.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In-app notifications and possiby push notifications in the future.

Reliable like swiss clockwork

What do you like best about the product?
We use Ably to send out push notifications and rely on it quite heavily. We decided to go with Ably years ago to avoid having to build or manage it ourselves. It was very easy to set up and reasonable when it came to pricing, so we decided to go for "buy" rather than "build.

Years later, we still use Ably for all push notifications. Initially, we thought we'd use Ably until the cost started to increase and it would be worth managing the push notification service ourselves. But the fact that we don't have to worry about them, and that the price increase due to increased traffic has been reasonable has made it that it's still not a priority Today.
What do you dislike about the product?
Of course, we'd love to see lower prices, but the ease of mind we get for it makes it worth the money.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our application has many async processes as they often take a fair amount of time (optimization problems, data processing) or are related to real time events. Ably allows us to give our customers the experience they are looking for, always with the latest information, always on top of things.

Great tool for real time communication; Support is great too

What do you like best about the product?
Ably is a great tool for real-time communication. We have been using it for our client's EduTech Portal for the last 4 years. The support is great too. It integrates well with other technologies, easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not able to find any issues with Ably so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To communicate to the user devices in real-time, and reliably was our requirement which ably has fulfilled.

Ably save us during incident

What do you like best about the product?
Our customer sucess reactivity.
We deploy a new code that lead to explode the number of call we made to Ably, Ably remove our limit to not block our feature before we need to ask them and let us the time to adjust our code.
We like also the terraform provider to create all our app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Monitoring integration with datadog not include in all plan

Shared messaging across mutliple device

What do you like best about the product?
I was researching ably products to design a solution to meet business needs. I had some questions about the product and it was really fast and easy to reach out to customer support personal who knew technical information about the product in details. Questions were answered quickly and to the point.
What do you dislike about the product?
FAQ could be expanded and articles be kept up to date as the product matures.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Read from kafka topics and update information on user device.

What do you like best about the product?
It's inexpensive and I was able to get it started.

I had an issue (user error) in my implementation that blew up my free-tier quota (100% my fault) and Ably customer support were amazing at resolving my issues.

Someone got on live chat with me at 11PM, did not expect that!
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't say much.
Maybe the documentation could include more examples that i could copy paste into my code and tweak it.. but really only if I'm nitpicking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me sync messages between multiple devices owned by the same user.

What do you like best about the product?
All of Ably's services are excellent, from customer service to product performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far it's been perfect. I hope it continues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were already coming from another platform, where we had some difficulties with service, performance and service availability. With Ably we have an excellent experience with service, performance and service availability, in addition to excellent documentation.

What do you like best about the product?
Thanks to Ably, the real-time functionality of our application is very reliable. However, a small oversight on our part caused a huge problem for our users. Ably's support was there to help us immediately until the problem was solved.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, there's nothing to dislike about Ably as far as I'm concerned. Maybe the code examples in the docs could be more extensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ably was implemented in our assessment tool to provide a reliable, real-time experience for both the trainer and the trainee.

What do you like best about the product?
My team decided to use Ably for our realtime communication moving away from AWS IOT. Since then we find that Ably has been very reliable and the number errors have been reduced drammatically and the performance has improved significantly as well. It is easy to implement and has a good set of features for reliability and fault-tolerance.
What do you dislike about the product?
We ran into a number of issues during initial adoption, but Ably engineers resolved them very quickly. Whatever issues we had should make Ably better for future customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing the number of errors over AWS IOT and to increase the performance.
