Overview
Leading technology and management institutes in India wanted to expand access to AI-focused education, but classroom-based programs were limited by campus capacity. Accenture saw an opportunity to bring LearnVantage, its AI-powered learning platform, into this academic market to help build AI-ready workforces at scale. Working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Accenture added new capabilities to the LearnVantage platform to support scalable hybrid learning, analytics, and generative AI use cases. With the LearnVantage platform on AWS, institutes can upskill up to 10 times more AI-ready graduates per cohort while helping employers reduce the time needed to prepare new hires for AI-focused roles.
About Accenture
Accenture helps leading enterprises reinvent by building digital cores and using AI to create value at speed. With approximately 799,000 people, it combines deep industry expertise and technology to deliver end-to-end solutions and measurable outcomes at scale.
Opportunity | Meeting India’s demand for AI-ready graduates at scale
For organizations adopting generative AI and Agentic AI, workforce readiness quickly became a critical challenge. At the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, CEOs asked Accenture how it was preparing its workforce? for AI adoption and how Accenture could help them build similar capabilities in their organizations. In response, Accenture launched LearnVantage, an AI-powered, end-to-end learning and upskilling platform and service designed to help organizations transform their workforce for the AI economy.
As LearnVantage expanded through acquisitions, Accenture added more capabilities to the platform, including live online instructor-led training, mentoring, coaching, live proctoring, hands-on labs, capstone projects, and job-readiness support.
The next phase began in India, where leading technology and management institutes wanted to expand access to AI-focused education through hybrid learning. This created a new opportunity for Accenture to support academic institutions while helping students build the AI skills employers increasingly need. To move quickly, Accenture needed a unified platform that could scale across institutes, learners, and programs.
Swati Sharma, chief strategy and growth officer at Accenture LearnVantage, says, “We decided to seek out a technology provider that could help us unify the backbone and build a scalable solution to cater to a net new opportunity.”
Solution | Building a scalable platform for AI-ready graduates
Working with AWS, Accenture LearnVantage built new capabilities on its platform to scale hybrid learning across technology and management institutes in India. Accenture’s longstanding relationship with AWS helped the teams mobilize quickly, bringing together cloud, generative AI, and training capabilities. The collaboration builds on a broader strategic relationship between the companies, including the migration of Accenture workloads to AWS globally.
The platform uses managed compute, container orchestration, database, analytics, and business intelligence services on AWS to support academic programs across institutes. Sharma says, “When we discussed this opportunity in India with AWS, the response was fantastic. The team got behind us quickly so we could maximize speed to market.”
To personalize student learning, Accenture worked with AWS to develop 12 generative AI use cases that help students use AI as part of their learning experience. Built using Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock with Anthropic Claude models, the use cases include an AI tutor for personalized support and Adaptive Learning Path, which adjusts learning based on student progress. The platform also supports smart proctoring, which uses Amazon Rekognition for identity verification and visual analysis. This helps institutes maintain academic integrity as programs scale beyond traditional classroom delivery.
Accenture LearnVantage also set up AWS Academy in various institutes, giving students a structured path to cloud and generative AI fundamentals on AWS. Through AWS Training and Certification, students can prepare for credentials employers recognize and trust. Courses include AWS Academy Cloud Foundations and AWS Academy Generative AI Foundations. Sharma says, “We set up the academy in institutes, so students get the best preparation for the world of work.”
Outcome | Upskilling 10x more AI-ready graduates in India
With LearnVantage on AWS, institutes can expand AI-focused programs to reach up to 10 times more students and prepare more graduates for industry roles. Sharma says, “By adding LearnVantage on AWS to classroom-based programs, an institution can upskill 5,000 students per cohort in AI and other domains, compared with around 500 previously.”
Furthermore, the hybrid model gives qualified students access to programs previously limited by campus capacity, while connecting them with the same institute expertise through Live online instructor-led instruction. Accenture LearnVantage is now working with India’s top technology and management institutes to scale their programs, with plans to expand the network of institutes in India and other global markets.
The impact extends beyond academia. By combining academic programs with industry content, capstone projects, and expert-led instruction from Accenture, LearnVantage helps graduates build job-ready skills before they enter the workforce. Employers can save up to six months of training to get graduate hires ready for AI-focused roles. “Industry gets talent that’s project ready from day one and graduates get great work experience—it’s a win-win,” says Sharma.
The model also shows how Accenture and AWS connect education with industry demand for emerging AI-enabled skills. As India becomes a proving ground for AI workforce readiness, education ministries from Southeast Asia and the Middle East are already studying the approach and discussing similar graduate-focused programs with LearnVantage. Sharma says, “India is proving that AI-ready talent can be developed at scale. We believe this model can help institutions worldwide prepare workforce-ready graduates for an AI-powered economy.”
