Great social media scheduler
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Hootsuite helps me to schedule out content On Facebook and Twitter. It is very user friendly and has a lot of cool features. I love that you can bulk schedule things. I love that you can view your social media streams because it enables you to see if you have any noticeable gaps in your schedule. I also like that it makes it easy for you to track down content that you posted through Hootsuite.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that it would help with content curation. I also wish that more platforms were integrated. I have yet to find a social media scheduler that has everything that I need. Ideally, there would be a central location that allowed me to curate content, create content, schedule content, and also review analytics concerning how people engaged with my content. However, as it is, I have to use three different social media schedulers to get everything done. I use Hootsuite for Facebook and Twitter posts. I also use Post Planner for Facebook and Twitter, but the added benefit of Post Planner is that they not only recommend content, they have a way for you to search for content within the system, and they also give you analytics on how that specific piece of content is generally received by readers. I think it would also be nice to be able to use more of the features in the free plan. I am also unsure how you earn points.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem of being able to have content consistently being posted across social media. It helps me to make good use of my time, if I stay focused on the task at hand. It is also helpful when I work with clients that pay me extra to handle their social media scheduling, though many of them have moved to Meet Edgar.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think that Hootsuite is a great social media scheduling tool if you only plan to use a few social media platforms and already have curated your content. It is user-friendly. It could be improved upon by being integrated with more platforms, but it does work with several of the large ones. The free plan is sufficient, though if you want to be able to use more features (such as their insights/analytics trackers), you might want to consider upgrading.

Great intro platform for SMM
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite has great integration with Instagram, which sets it apart from other management platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hootsuite monitoring is all over the place, it's hard to keep track of activity and see what's already been taken care of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite is great for Instagram management for my clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hootsuite is a great first platform that's also a great resource for business. Love the company.
Great Tool for Scheduling Social Media Posts
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Hootsuite is to use for scheduling posts. I use the Hootlet extension on my Chrome browser and love that it provides a work-around to "scheduling a shared post" on Facebook.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe the reporting system needs a lot of improvement. The reports are expensive and allow for limited customization. Even basic metrics cost money and there are tools that provide it for free elsewhere. So it is a disservice to the end user to have to use Hootsuite for scheduling, but a different tool, and in many cases cheaper, for analytics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a tool to schedule content in advance. Hootsuite does a nice job of allowing users to schedule content and manage different accounts all at once and easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Plan holistically on what you want the tool to do. If you need it for simple scheduling of posts this is an awesome tool. If you would like integrated analytics, chat with the support team to develop what reports you will need.
Great for Small Buisnesses
What do you like best about the product?
The interface makes it easy to use and help us maximize our social media plan with few resources. This is great for our two man team who know's it's important to have a media plan but can't spend every day working on it. It allows our team to collaborate and then push forward our media plan.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can sometimes be confusing for new users. It took us a while to get the hang of it but once we did we could see the benefits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software allows us to work remotely and achieve the same goal. We both can go in and make changes and schedule together. I love that everything is in one place instead of having to log into individuals sites. It also give us great insights to allow us to move forward with our plan.
Hootsuite - Good, but fatal flaw
What do you like best about the product?
Good for organizing/monitoring multiple social channels across multiple brands. Good for scheduling the same post to multiple social channels.
What do you dislike about the product?
Disappointing that Hootesuite posts do not bring up tags in Facebook. In other words, placing @somebody in the body of your post will not link to @sombody's Facebook account. I must go back in manually and retype the tag to actually link it. Useless. I use the program to save me time not give me yet another task that needs to be followed up on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling multiple posts across multiple brands and social channels
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Double check your posts to make sure all tagging is correct
Simplify Your Life
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I can schedule my posts ahead of time, for all my social media. I can spend a half hour, one day a week, and schedule my entire week full of posts to take one more headache away from me. On top of that, if I find something I like in the meantime, I can still post that immediatly or add that to my que as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike I have, is their auto-schedule feature. Their analytics aren't as good as Buffer -- they don't *quite* know the BEST times to post, like Buffer does. BUT -- Buffer works hand in hand with Hootsuite so I can get the best of both worlds right here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It eliminates the need of for an extra social media "guru" to be on payroll. I don't need someone logging into every social media account in a seperate tab, scheduling and hoping to get the best bang for your buck. We can spend a half an hour, one day a week, and get the whole week planned out for us. Every post in between, is on our own time without taking away from the bigger picture.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to save time and money, use this product. You can schedule everything ahead of time and honestly make your life easier.
Hootsuite is a boon for those managing multiple, diverse accounts
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Hootsuite offers a variety of social media account management options, as I can not only manage multiple business units, but multiple accounts as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Hootsuite offered more in the way of business analytics for social media accounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We manage four different business units' social media accounts, so the tab option is fantastic. I love having one login for all the accounts. It makes management seamless.
Great platform for Social Media Scheduling
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to navigate and learn the platform. Scheduling is a breeze. I can put multiple businesses up and it works amazing!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like there to be "groups" or an easier way to get to post on certain platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posting social media content in a fast way, without going through multiple accounts. Time saver!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a fast platform that you can use to schedule content, this is it!
Useful, but not essential
What do you like best about the product?
It's a great organizational tools, especially when managing multiple social accounts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The functionality per platform isn't great. You miss a lot of what you gain by using platforms natively. Analytics suite is pretty weak.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization is a big one. Community management is made simple with the tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play around with the free version before investing in premium.
Time-Saving Application
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that if I want to post an item to multiple social platforms, I can do so fairly easily and save a lot of time, as opposed to logging into each platform and posting separately. I manage the social media for a staffing agency, so being able to post our jobs across multiple platforms at once is a HUGE benefit.
What do you dislike about the product?
One capability I wish Hootsuite would provide, is the ability to re-post previous postings. I post jobs on a regular basis in our office, and it would be helpful to be able to re-post an item from the last week without having to rewrite it all over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I utilize Hootsuite to post items to our social media platforms all at once. I like that I can not only plan my posting schedule, but also implement and schedule postings into the future. My position is mainly task oriented, so being able to take care of (some) of my posts in advance is a great thing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend having a good, separate source of content for posting. I've tried to utilize the "Suggestions" segment in the Publisher, and rarely to the suggested articles have anything to do with the keywords relating to our type of business (staffing/employment agency).
