Strong project organization tool for cross-country coordination
What do you like best about the product?
It's very simple and straightforward to use. Creating projects, assigning tasks, duplicating projects and tasks are all very easy to do. This allows for a very quick organization tool with no real learning barrier for coworkers.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have long lists of projects under each product header. I know we could archive them, but still need to access them from time to time. It would be very handy to be able to quickly sort from bottom up, so new projects are at the top.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We organization a ton of different projects across three different states around the country. Asana allows each person involved with a project to stay completely up to date. The conversation and mention tools are very useful for alerting progress or issues. It's a glorified checklist that now hosts tons of important information for us to stay organized.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Put all projects under a certain topic in there or not at all. It's best used when used to its maximum!

Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about using Asana is that I can have multiple projects. I use it with our marketing team to collaborate projects with them, and then I can have my own work projects aside from that. I also am able to use it in my personal life to manage day to day tasks and I can add users to task lists if necessary. It is easy to follow and easy to use, and simplicity is what I live by so its a great product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I probably would not be using Asana if I disliked anything that much, the only thing that I wish was a little better is if there is a recurring tasks, any notes from the previous task get wiped out, so I can never mark any tasks as complete if I want to see them for every day use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems that I am solving are many, I wear many hats with what I do, I manage our customer support, communications with our marketing team, social media, brand advocate outreach, operations, payment processing and many more. Asana has helped me keep everything together in an organized way that I was not able to before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, they have a free product so use that for a while and see if it is helpful or useful to you!
Asana usage for marketing startup
What do you like best about the product?
I love that you are able to make lists and assign tasks to different members within the team. I also love that Asana congratulates you when you complete tasks! It's a great way to keep myself on track. Asana emails you your daily tasks and things that are over due so you rarely miss anything. The comment feature is also very nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think a big problem we had is people tend to ignore their tasks and disable email notifications. Not everyone would get on board with using the program because it's not super easy to set up. A lot of the functions could be more clear and user friendly. It takes a while to work with and get to know, and could be simplified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall we try to use it to make to do lists for projects and clients and assign them to the team. It's great if one person is monitoring the project and completion of tasks but people left to their own devices often delete the email reminders and resort to going back to their old way of doing things.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have the whole team get on board and make sure they are checking it everyday and on top of due dates. Use team meetings to update and reorganize/check off new and old tasks. Make it a point to make it part of regular use or it will not be effective for your team. Have someone dedicate time to go through every feature and try it out and teach you in a way that makes sense for your business! This would have helped us tremendously.
Best cost effective team menagement product with awesome UX
What do you like best about the product?
Increadiably intuitive and easy to use. Good integrations with e-mails and privacy options - all free for a team of 15! I enjoy their product roadmap as well - latest 'boards' feature integration allow to use Asana for multi-user task streamlining. Team calendar is another handy feature - I can see where is an opportunity to add a task to a team member.
I have been using this product for the last 3 years and don't have any need to look else where.
I have been using this product for the last 3 years and don't have any need to look else where.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think good addition would be to add dependencies feature ( just like Zoho) and more visualisation to reporting. I am definitely missing good old gant charts! Right now to analyse my bottlenecks I export all projects in excell and go from there. Any features supporting time sheets would be an advantage - currently for potential time-wasting tasks we tag hours and after exporting into spreadsheets can add or analyse.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing tasks and processes between 3 teams plus externals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before training your team take your time to think how you can us Asana features like tag in, liking etc. create a protocol. If everyone using the product in the same way you can get decent analytics and reporting from your spreadsheets
Great resource for team planning and building
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can have team and individual organization rolled all into one. This really is the "do all" tool in that we can assign and check off tasks, build plans and share links and ideas all in one place. Since I work with a remote team this kind of platform is invaluable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing particular, at the moment but I think if I had to say one thing it would be that the notifications are a bit heavy. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes having notification in your email, inbox logging on and calendar can feel a bit much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Publishing, marketing, sales and team building. I love that tasks can easily be shared and delegated in one space that's easy to understand and navigate. The overall structure of Asana is a great resource to have and I'm very happy to have it as an integral part of our team work and building strategies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool for a remote team but it's important to keep everything up to date and organized. Asana helps on this, but it's still important to remember that you have to also do your part as individual workers.
Easy tracking tool to keep tasks organized with a group or company.
What do you like best about the product?
As a board member on a User Group (treasurer), we use Asana for tracking tasks and meeting deadlines. It is extremely helpful to be able to detail out what expected of each member along with how far they are to completing that task especially because we all work remotely across the United States. It allows me to keep myself up to date on due dates and its nice to be able to use this on the mobile device and access it at anytime.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of right now, there is nothing I have used that isn't a good fit or need to what I want. My own personal company is looking into Asana though, so I will continue to keep using it for the User Group, in hopes to transfer it to my current company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User interaction that is face to face is not an option for my use for Asana. I am a board member on a User Group we rely on technology to keep us on track and as a communication tool. Being able to chat with people via a conversation inside Asana is extremely helpful, especically for those that have restrictions on chat features or chat features are only for internal employees; in my case, we all work for different companies, so we love this feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a tool that is easy to use, accessible for small groups (even those working remotely or in person), this is something that will help you stay on track and help you complete tasks in a timely manner. It is also a plus that this is mobile friendly for when you are out of the office.
Most powerful project management software
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Asana for more than a year now, and I haven't looked back ever since. Asana is a great project management tool! You can easily adapt it to any type of projects you work on. They have basic features like due dates, task assignments, filters, tags, and attachments. They also have more advanced features like task relationships (e.g., you can mark a task as waiting for another one), project templates and they recently introduced a new board view.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see some type of advanced reporting feature. Exporting to CSV is something I use a lot, and it could be improved by allowing you to select what data you want to export.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for personal projects and at my company. Personally, I use it as a social media planner. Project templates allow me to easily create monthly projects to plan the content for each month.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out their new Boards feature. It's similar to Trello boards, but with all the other features that Asana offers you.
Great Task Manager
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Asana is to use and understand. I also like that it makes communication between myself and my team seamless. Also, the layout makes me concentrate on each project and take it one step at a time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is super easy to understand and use, however, the one thing I dislike is having to go into each "project" to see what needs to be done rather than a collective list of tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the miscommunications between my team and I as we can see who is responsible for which tasks, what everyone is accomplishing, and being able to see the projects progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend this software for those who solely rely on email as the only form of communication between your team. This powerful piece of software makes you and your team work together as a whole and see how hard everyone is working. I would definitely try this software out if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed
Great for teams and more complex projects
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a truly premium product with a free price tag. You can manage an incredible amount of project data and keep projects completely separate from one another.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's "too much" of a solution for the daily operations of my business. It's best suited for teams managing complex projects. As a freelance designer who collaborates directly with clients, it doesn't suit my needs. Most of my clients also didn't find the interface intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I collaborate with clients on website redesigns and new websites. Asana is great for managing the tasks and milestones within those projects, but it feels overly complex for a one-woman design shop.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fantastic product for the right situation. I often recommend Asana to clients when I think it could be a good fit.
