Keeping my work day sane!

  • October 31, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is simple, easy to use and best of all, it is free! (At least for a small business owner like myself that just has a few employees.)
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to be picky--I wish there was more ways to organize the tasks or make a more structured workflow. (I'm being picky with this though--I really don't have any complaints!)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me to keep projects from slipping through the cracks and keeps my projects on time. Plus, it helps me to keep tracking of time spent on the project, attachments, etc... Basically, when a customer asks a question about the project, even months from now, I will be able to look it up in Asana and provide them an answer!

Asana the good, the bad and the ugly

  • October 30, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how many reminders that you can set up in Asana. If there is a very important task that I need done asana makes sure that I remember to do it. I get emails that show me which tasks that I need to complete and I even get alerts on my phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how disorganized it seems to be. Sometimes I am looking for a certain tasks and it is no longer on my dashboard. I later realize that it is archived. I don't like how things can be all over the place in this system. It is not very user friendly. The interface does not seem to flow exactly the way that it should.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This site gives me access to all of my employees in one area. It allows everyone to be able to speak to each other so that there isn't more than one person working on a task at a time.

Decluttered my inbox while improving project management

  • October 28, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana eliminates the need for unnecessary emails. I appreciate how easy it is to communicate about specific tasks and projects without overwhelming my inbox. I loved that you could upload multiple files to a specific task without confusing versions, since the timeline is clear.
What do you dislike about the product?
The transition to Asana was very difficult for many of my team members who had never used a cloud-based platform; not to mention, those who are usually only on their phones found it tricky to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to better streamline communications in the office. Maintaining project timelines was much easier when the whole team understood what the hold-up was at any given moment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is definitely a useful tool for teams who want to declutter their inboxes and streamline communications among dispersed team members.

We absolutely love it!

What do you like best about the product?
Their interface, let's start there. It's gorgeous! Specially compared to Teamwork. I love the ease of use and collaborative aspect of it.

Creating projects and templates is super easy and we get our projects going with a click of a button.

My team loves it and my clients love it. The app is by far the best we've used for project management. In fact, it's the only one we've used as it's that simple. We've used Trello, Basecamp and Teamwork before and none come close to Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
One feature I would love to have is a bird's eye view of all projects at once. Not a deal breaker for us since we use Instagantt to have gantt charts so that gives us what we need but it would be cool to have it directly in Asana. That being said, the way these two integrate is seamless, so no real problem here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management. But we also use Asana to close deals. Once clients go through the discovery process with us as a marketing agency we get them in Asana, so they see our whole process even before we start. Clients love it and Asana shows them we have it together, that we have a process and we've done this before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is out of the ordinary. We've tried many project management systems out there and nothing compares. Not the mention their customer support. We are very efficient and clients love it!

Good Product

  • October 26, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best:

Price it's free, and the paid version is $8.33 per month with a year option.
You can have unlimited team members
You have unlimited dashboards
Data exports and the admin controls
Easy to use
Customer service is average
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike:

It is the structure it does not operate well outside of basic task management
Doesn't look as though it would be anything for a big company it is more suitable for a small company
difficult to track progress of projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company is trying to look for ways to improve some our productivity problems. We spend most our time in meetings and digging through emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This product is not for use in a big company that has many departments but that does not mean that it's worth trying and that it could not be used in some way. It is effective and is easy to use and for the most part any tool that can help with productivity problems is worth trying out. It would recommend giving it a try at least in a departmental setting to see how effective it maybe for your organization as every company is different.

Great Project Management tool

  • October 25, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Asana uses your email to automatically suggest people and projects from your work that are currently being managed on Asana. That way it makes it easier to see who else is using Asana from your work and to connect with them to share projects/tasks that need to be done.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the beginning I did struggle with getting the hang out creating projects and creating sub categories and sub categories with that and linking projects with other projects - I think in the beginning there should have been a bit more "pop-ups" with helpful tools, because I feel like if I hadn't had training from my coworkers who already use Asana, I would have given up on it. I also don't like that it's hard to recover deleted/completed tasks. I wish there was an unhide button or something for the deleted tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Involving project management - makes it easier to see if people are keeping up to date on their projects.
Increases communication between all of the different people working on a project - reduced the need for phone calls and extensive conference calls when projects can mostly be managed via Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it's a great tool for an individual or for a company. I use it mostly for work, but even if I have daunting personal tasks to take care of, I use Asana to plan them and break down the tasks into doable chunks.

Definitely recommend Asana for group projects to divide out tasks and make sure that everyone is keeping up with their tasks.

The best designed task management tool for my small startup team

  • October 25, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility and simplicity. Unlike most other task management and productivity tools, Asana makes it really easy to see all of my tasks in a streamlined format of "New Tasks", "Upcoming", and "Later", which are tagged for different projects. This is extremely helpful for a small startup team like ours, since everyone has multiple hats to wear. Myself, for example, spearhead everything design, marketing, PR, branding related, as well as some business development and fundraising when the CEO has too many tasks at hand. Most other task management tools divide these projects into different folders, which makes it difficult to prioritize. Asana does a great job with adding, editing, assigning and prioritizing tasks. Their delightful design is a huge plus!
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is a small, growing team that has been making some fast developments which I love; but that also means there is a lot of room for improvement. Their calendar is far from perfect, and calendar is a critical part of task management. You cannot drag dates to set an event, not to mention selecting multiple dates (duration) for a single event. You cannot color code them or add a reminder.
Integration with other apps would have also been incredibly helpful. If their calendar isn't perfect, they could've allowed integration with other apps such as Google Calendar, iCal, Eventbrite, Gmail, etc. a lot of tools used by teams. Integration with Slack could've made Asana my favorite tool ever.
Another thing I dislike is the inability to assign tasks to multiple people. I understand their theory on having ownership for a task, but teams, especially small startups, often share tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm not sure if I follow the question.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a small team that needs a streamlined, delightful task management tool, Asana is definitely worth giving a try. They're a small team that always seeks feedback on their product.

Asana is a lifesaver!

  • October 25, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked Asana so much, I conducted a presentation at a national conference (Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction) for it this past summer in Atlanta. My colleagues and I have used Asana in several ways in our every-day job, by taking advantage of its collaborative features. We have used it to set up team projects, keep track of each member's schedules and responsibilities, create to-do lists. The mobile app version makes it very easy to take on the go with me and I can receive internal notifications on my mobile screen about my team's progress. A bonus feature is the Tab-B shortcut to release random kittens on your screen. Such a stress reliever! I also like the unicorns flying congratulating me on completing a task.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that it can be integrated into more mainstream things like Microsoft Outlook or Skype. I don't like having to open a new web browser to keep Asana running in the background.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to use Asana to internally communicate within the office in a fun and millennial-like way. It also speaks to our generation of law students, so I'm trying to find a way to incorporate it into my teaching.

User Friendly - Improves Department Communication

  • October 25, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the layout of everything. I think no matter what you are looking for, it's easy to find and if you don't know how to do something or are looking for something it's not hard to figure it out. For our purposes it makes communication in between departments much more efficient. Instead of taking time schedule more meetings, and waste time, it's easy to upload information and share and if it doesn't work they know instantly what to change or any edits to make.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would change is the organization on the left side of the screen. It could be how we are using it, but the break down on projects, teams and departments is a little confusing to figure out. Also, sometimes viewing history of projects is a little hard to find and not all projects always show up there. It seems as if some to and some don't.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this for project management purposes. When someone needs a design, our project manager puts in a task, assigns it to the requestor and requestee, then the two can communicate from there further if need be. Otherwise, there is a deadline put on it and it's an amazing way to manage projects being done and completed. If something needs edited, it's easy to send a message and tag someone so they know exactly how to change it or what needs to be fixed. The biggest benefit we see is efficiency and accountability.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think as a basic project management software, it works great. I probably do not know every single thing that it does and I may not know all of the capabilities of this software, but for our project management needs it has helped us out tremendously. It is very user friendly for employees that you don't want to spend a ton of time training to use a new software.

Asana Helps me Everyday

  • October 25, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can assign deadlines, categories for different projects, and that you can assign and share tasks with your coworkers. It's really helpful to switch between the list of tasks and the calendar of tasks, as well! I also like that the tasks you don't complete stay there, for you to revisit if necessary. Overall, it's a very intuitive and user-friendly platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike getting email reminders about my tasks. I don't really see then need for emails associated with Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to be scattered, with paper notes everywhere. I now take notes in Asana, where I know I won't loose them! I'm also solving the problem of starting tasks and never finishing them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely consider Asana if you are looking for a quick, fresh approach to organizing your thoughts and projects. I use it for tasks large and small. It's always open on my screen--just as important as email.
