Expanded Cloud Computing Capabilities for Compliance-Driven and Regulated Organizations with AWS GovCloud (US)

AWS GovCloud (US) is AWS’s set of physically and logically separated regions for infrastructure and services, designed for US Government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels, as well as US entities in aerospace, healthcare, finance, and other regulated industries. These regions allow customers to meet a variety of compliance and regulatory requirements, including FedRAMP High and Moderate baselines, ITAR, DoD SRG IL5, CJIS, and HIPAA, allowing customers to host sensitive Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and all types of regulated workloads in the cloud. AWS GovCloud (US) brings the agility, security, and scalability benefits of the AWS Cloud to customers who face stringent regulatory and compliance requirements.

Over 220 new services and features in AWS GovCloud (US)

Since announcing the opening of the second AWS GovCloud (US) Region last year, we have continued to focus on driving innovation and access to new services and infrastructure. This year, we launched over 220 services and features in the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. This includes some of our customers’ most requested AWS services such as Amazon S3 Glacier, AWS PrivateLink, AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Resource Access Manager (RAM), Amazon Route 53, and Amazon Workspaces. We’ve also made it easier for customers to centrally manage compliance, access, licenses, deployment, and billing for workloads in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions with the recent launches of AWS Organizations, AWS Service Catalog, and AWS License Manager.

Today at the AWS Public Sector Summit in Washington, DC, we announced four new services available in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions – AWS CodeBuild, AWS DataSync, AWS Serverless Application Repository, and AWS Secrets Manager.

Government customers share their cloud migration experience

AWS GovCloud (US) government customers like the US Army, US DOJ-ATF, US Department of Veterans Affairs, and US Census Bureau are sharing their cloud migration strategies at the Summit. Don’t miss their sessions on how using AWS has helped to realize new departmental transformation opportunities.
