Government of Portugal and AWS sign MoU to accelerate cloud adoption
Today, the government of Portugal and AWS announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement will help accelerate adoption of cloud computing in the public sector and contribute to the national Digital Transition Strategy of Portugal. Driven by the signing of the agreement, AWS launched Mais Digital Powered by AWS, an initiative that aggregates all of the activities AWS is undertaking in Portugal, to support the country’s digital transition.

Innovate Peru, an agency of the Ministry of Production in Peru, is collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudStart program to develop solutions to promote the growth of the startups and local businesses. Innovate Peru has helped more than 250 businesses in Peru grow since it began its Startup Peru competition in 2014. Startup Peru is a program that encourages innovation and diversifies the country’s economy that invests over S/5 million annually into startups through competitions held twice each year.

We are pleased to announce enhancements to the AWS CloudStart program to accelerate digital transformation with enhanced tools, trainings, and practice environments. AWS CloudStart supports Economic Development Organizations (EDOs) and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing resources to educate, train, and help them embrace the cost-effectiveness of the AWS Cloud. The current program provides benefits, such as virtual training material, Quiklabs, and AWS Promotional Credits, to approved applicants.
